Looking at the tall blue eyed felon in front of me I felt my stomach drop. How could she be out already? And why the fudge is my dad giving her a job?

"What are you doing here, Ruby?" I ask, crossing my arms and leaning on my car as I did so.

"Is that anyway to welcome me home?" She asks slowly swaggering over to me.

"Um, excuse you we were done as soon as you went to jail. You SOMECRIME! And dad why are you hiring a convicted felon? Have you lost your marbles? And people think I'm on drugs" I yell at the to of them causing Ruby to smirk and my dad to frown.

"Now Cara that's no way to talk to Ruby, you guys were so close. Everyone deserves a second chance and that's what I'm giving Ruby. So your going to work together and that's final!" My dad said sternly yelling without yelling if that's even possible.

"Ok" I said annoyed with him and her and Alex and Danny basically everyone. I'm just pissed off at the world right now.

Dad left shortly after telling me off, leaving me with Ruby. I'm so surprised that she's here I didn't think that I would have to see her ever again after she went away.

"Are you really that upset that I'm back?" Ruby asks staring at her feet whilst fiddling with a screwdriver, almost scared of my answer.

"No, I don't know it's just a big surprise. I haven't seen you in three years, I hear that you got arrested and was going to end up in jail for ten years from someone else. You didn't contact me at all whilst you were away and that really freaking hurt" I reply going from a whisper to a shout.

Tears were slowly rolling down my cheeks for the first time in years and I wanted to crawl into a hole. Feeling exposed and vulnerable I walked out the shop not wanting her to see me cry any longer. Ruby mustn't have heard my silent pleas to be left alone as she followed me out the store and into the parking lot.

"I didn't tell you or contact you because I didn't want you to get hurt. I love you Cara and it upsets me seeing you cry" She whispers, dropping her macho act.

"Can you forgive me?" She ads looking me in the eye for the first time today.

"Yeah" I reply pulling her into a hug, inhaling the familiar sent of cigarettes and pepper mint.

" *throat clears* " Turning around whilst pulling out of the hug I was met with a tears Aria.

"Oh sorry I'm interrupting something" Aria says backing away slowly, shedding more tears as she tripped over herself.

"No it's ok, Ruby here was just getting back to work. Weren't you Ruby?" I ask subtly gesturing for her to head back in so I could talk to Aria and luckily she gets my drift.

"Oh yes I better head back to work, um I'm Ruby it's nice to meet you Aria" With that Ruby went back in leaving me and Aria in the parking lot looking like complete and utter messes with our tear stained faces. Imagining what others thought of us just standing there made me laugh, I laughed and laughed and eventually Aria joined in until we were crying once again, this time out of stupidity instead of sadness. Eventually things went silent and we were left in silence once again.

"Are you okay?" I ask knowing full well that she's not.

"No, I need to vent" she confessed.

"Okay, come with me I know where we can go" Gesturing to her to follow me I lead the way out of the parking lot and somewhere private, ready to listen to my friend. It's weird calling her my friend but it felt good. Good to have a friend like her.
