Chapter Forty - Olivia's POV

Cara must be drunk. She slurs all her words as she is saying her speech to Maddi and Luke. "-and I hoooppe yoouur baaaby is ass cool asss yooouu twwwooo," Suddenly the room goes cold and everyone freezes. Cara's face changes suddenly like she realised what she said. I look over at Maddi, who is practically in tears. Luke can't even look at her, he mustn't have known, but even if her did it should not have come out this way. Maddi suddenly runs out of the room, it takes a few seconds for Luke to react, but then he runs out after her. Aria looks over at me, her face shocked but worried. Quickly I walk over to Cara and pull her away by the hand into another room. I slam the door behind us.

"What the hell did you do?" my voice sounding angry and over the top.

"Wee....eee...ll..I-"

"Did Luke even know?" She doesn't move "He didn't did he?! Why would you say that!"

She suddenly slips back into her normal self, "It sli..li..slipped out! You th..think I meant to s..s..say that? Huh?"

"Things don't just slip out Cara! I know you were drunk, and everybody else knew it too! I thought you might have at least had the decency to wait until after the speech!"

"Sorry, I'll try har...ar..der next ti...me!" She says sarcastically.

"I don't care! But you better do fix what you've done!" And I walk out the room leaving her standing there.

Back out in the living room I spot Aria and she sees me. "What happened?" She asks keeping her head low and her eyebrows raised. "He didn't know. Maddi must have told her, but apparently she couldn't stay sober enough to not say it!"

"I'm not really sure what to say to that,"

"Neither,"

Aria's eyes start to follow something behind me. "Is it Cara?" I ask her closing my eyes pleading she isn't coming over here.

"Yeah, but she's heading off in another direction,"

I hope shes not angry with me for what I said.
