YOK
I startled awake and momentarily forgot where I was. Groaning in annoyance when the hangover headache hit me like a thundering bull who saw a red color. Slowly, fragments of last night floated to the surface. Fuck! Was Ray really here? Did I hallucinate? Maybe dreamt it all?
Immediately standing up despite the headache, I searched the small room and the bathroom but Ray wasn't anywhere. Sighing with relief, I went back to the bed and picked up my phone. Something on my bedside table caught my eye. A hastily scrawled note and 2 aspirins.
** Yok, you probably have a nasty hangover, take these aspirins and I left you some breakfast in the table. I left just in case it'll make you feel bad first thing in the morning to see me. I'm sorry. Ray **
Oh fuck. That wasn't a dream. I fucked Ray's brains out in the garage. Trying to recall if there was a CCTV in that area after taking the aspirin. I'll have to ask Hia Jun. It'll be terribly embarrassing but better be embarrassed than risking having our wild night being exposed to someone else.
After eating the breakfast that Ray prepared, I briefly wondered if he had given up. After all, I was pretty rough last night. There's nothing for him to stay here anyway. Picking up my phone, I called Hia Gumpa to ask if he told Ray about where I was. Insisting he did no such thing, I wondered how he found me then.
My shift starts at 10am, so I had 5 minutes to spare when I went out and entered the main garage. Glancing at the Mercedes being worked on by James- one of the other mechanics.
"Your friend is very good looking. He's a very charming young man," Hia Jun commented.
"Where is he, Hia?" I asked.
"Oh he said he's going down to the grocery. I showed him where to go while his car is getting fixed. He said he was worried you had no food in your fridge and cupboards," Hia glanced at me meaningfully. He somehow knows this is the man I was running away from.
"Sorry about not telling you about him Hia. He arrived surprisingly late last night," I apologized.
"Oh it's alright, Yok. I'm not some prude," he smiled.
"Hia, I think you said that Carl was coming back next week. I wanted to let you know that I'm going back to Bangkok once he returns," I told him.
"Of course, Yok. If you need to run away again, you know where my garage is. A talented mechanic like you will always be welcomed," He patted my shoulder.
"Thank you, Hia; I better take over my friend's car so I can send him on his way right away," I say and he smiled, nodding.
I want to check everything there is to check on Ray's car, making sure it'll be in a good condition since he'll be driving long on his return to Bangkok and he is alone.
