Respecting Ray's wishes will always be a priority to me but I was very worried for his well-being. From experience, Ray does not handle problems well. Imagining him in that bathtub again gives me the chills. So despite knowing he would be angrier if he found out, I just have to make sure that he is safe.
After going to the mansion and finding out from Victor that Ray hadn't been home at all, the only other place I could think of was the hostel. So I drove there despite the late hour. To my utter surprise and scare, I found Ray on one of the loungers passed out. Afraid that he might have taken something dangerous, I slowly approached and checked. Sighing in relief when I assured myself that he was just drunk. The empty whiskey bottle beside him made me guiltier than ever. Eyeing the pool, I felt myself shiver remembering that bathtub stunt he pulled. Did Ray think of jumping in? Is that why he opted to get drunk here instead of his house?
Deciding to pick him up, afraid he'd get sick if he slept outdoors. Ray murmured incoherently when I carried him in my arms and snuggled closer. As if, despite his inebriated state he instinctively knew I was the one who was carrying him.
Surprised to meet Nick, who was about to go down the stairs. Nick waved and gestured for the kitchen and I just nodded and opened Ray's-- which was supposed to be our- Room. It's still bare with only the large bed- fondly smiling at the memory of Ray teasing me about my height when I asked why he had to get such a large bed, the closet, and the en suite bathroom. The rest of the furniture is yet to arrive.
Placing Ray gently on it, he protested when I pulled back and wished to myself that he'd still feel the same when sober. Whispering that I'd be back, I went to the bathroom and got a hand towel. Gently removing Ray's outer clothes, leaving him in his boxers and tank top. He sighed with contentment when the cool towel touched his skin as I tried to wipe him down. Guiltily looked at Ray's sleeping figure, his arm now comfortably wrapped around my waist like he does every night since we started sleeping together. Crying with regret that I might lose this precious person because I never had the guts to confess my secret before someone took the choice away from me. Wishing I could stay beside Ray and snuggle into his warmth like I did just last night. How could things change so much in such a short time?
When the light of dawn started to filter through the half-closed blinds, I forced myself to disentangle from the warm arms that I wanted to wrap around me forever. Not wanting to further upset Ray, I placed water and aspirin in his bedside table and kissed him gently on the forehead before leaving.
Looking back longingly at the beautiful creature, appearing so tiny in his very large king bed, I made myself move and gently closed the bedroom door before driving back home.

"Yok, how are things between you and Ray?" White asked hesitantly, I was busy wrapping up a motorcycle that was bought yesterday by a friend of Sean who wanted to change colors.
