LEGACY DAYLION HENDRIX
WEDNESDAY EVENING
AUGUST 10th, 2022

LEGACY SAT IN his desk chair, swinging his chair side to side, just thinking.

He wasn't technically thinking about one thing in particular, but just a heap of things. He was trying at least, but his mind just kept flowing to kataleya.

This was very unusual because usually, he wasn't the type to be interested in girls. His mother had tainted how he saw women, so he never focused on things like that.

Kataleya had made a different impression on him.

He was just confused, about how a stranger could care more about him than his own family.

The boy sighed, standing to his feet. He was about to take a shower and then go to the library-because that happened to be his second favorite place at school.

As soon as he was about to make his way to his dresser, three knocks on the door had him halting his movements. By the knock, he could tell it was his dorm advisor-Landon.

Rerouting his motions, he turned around pulling the door open because Tyshawn was somewhere with Khalil, playing pranks on the freshman. He had opted out this time though, not in the mood for it.

"Uh, your mother is on the phone down in Headmaster Lawsons' office," Landon informed him, and Legacy closed his eyes for a moment quickly growing irritated.

She always found a way to contact him even when he had an excuse not to. It was growing tiring.

"Aight, I'm comin'." He muttered softly, closing the door in Landon's face.

He turned around, and went putting on his all-black Nike slides, then picked up his hearing aid from the desk. He made his way out of his room afterward.

He had quite of a walk to get to the office, needing to leave the entire dormitory and head to the main building.

When he arrived, he knocked on the large door twice, fiddling with the hearing aid in his hand. He placed it on his ear and heard a faint come in on the other side of the thick door.

Chewing on the inside of his lip, he twisted the ancient-looking door knob and let himself in.

The woman's face lit up, "Oh, legacy!" She spoke with the usual painted smile on her face. He looked at her uncomfortably because he didn't think it was that natural to be smiling as much as she did.

"Your mother is on hold," she stated picking up the phone, "She wants to talk to you." She informed him even though he of course knew that already.
