"Huh?! What did you say?!" Legacy questioned, lifting his head from out of the closet to focus his eyes on Kataleya who was putting the bottles full of water in the diaper bag.
Leya hugged irritably causing him to smirk. Getting on her nerves had quickly became his favorite passing time. As soon as she caught wind that he liked doing it, she tried to put a stop to it but it was too late. "I said your deaf ass needs to put your hearing aid in!"
Her words made his lips part as if he was offended by her words. "I don't want to." He complained, and she closed her eyes momentarily to calm herself down.
"Alright don't then. Please go find one of Lyric's pacifiers, he gonna need it when he wake up." She looked over at the baby sitting in his car seat.
He shook his head, "it's in your hand Leya." He pointed and she looked down as if he was lying only to be met with the blue Mickey Mouse pacifier.
"Damn, my mind going bad already," She shook her head, and he laughed gently taking the pacifier from her hand.
He went in the blue and white diaper bag and grabbed the clip. "Here let's put it on his shirt." He told her, and she nodded stepping aside to let him handle the action.
While he did that, she picked up her phone seeing the plethora of messages from everybody. "Damn I didn't know we were late. Let me put my shoes on." She spoke to herself mindlessly, choosing to not reply to any of the messages.
She would just wait until they got in the car to do it, so that she could at least say she was on the way. She slid her phone in her back pocket, and started looking around. "Where the fuck are my shoes." She frowned, and Legacy had to turn his head so that she wouldn't see him silently laughing.
He found it admirable how well of a mother she was. It was more than a step up from what he grew up with. She loved lyric unconditionally, and only in the way she was supposed to. But she was slowly losing her mind. She couldn't keep up with anything.
"Right there mama," He pointed next to the bed where both of her shoes were sitting next to each other ready to be put to use. She glanced to see the Air Jordan Retro 4s in black and white, and sighed with audible relief.
"What would I do without you, lord." She muttered, going and bending over to retrieve the Jordan's. Taking them, she sat on the edge of their bed, and began putting them on while Legacy took the opportunity to fix Lyric's clothes.
It was cold outside so Leya made sure to have him fully dressed and swaddled up for the short trips from the cars to inside the homes. He laid the blanket over the car seat like he had seen Leya do numerous times, and felt proud how easily he picked up small things.
