"WHAT LIE YOU gon' make up today? Or you all out of lies." Marcus grumbled, entering the kitchen to see his wife Miranda making her daily cup of coffee.
Lately she had been doubling her dose with everything that had been going on around their mansion.
Marcus was trying his best to recover from his gunshot wound. He was doing better, but it didn't ease her nerves because she knew kamal, and she knew he wasn't finished with what ever he had in store. She was worried because he had been too quiet, she didn't know what to expect or when to expect it.
Being in the dark what the scariest part of it all.
Then there was Zalikah. She had decided she didn't want to go to college, and Marcus almost had an heart attack at the news. Ever since she was a child she always wanted to be a lawyer, so her not wanting to go through with it once she graduated stopped his heart momentarily.
She was falling off track with the plan he had for her life and he wasn't feeling it.
While he was also worrying about those two things, there was Kataleya.
He wanted her to come home and while he was pressuring and blackmailing Miranda to get her home, nothing was working which was stressing him out the most. He was tired of this and he was about to take legal action against Miranda.
"What are you talking about now marcus." Miranda sighed irritably. Ever since the night he had been shot, their marriage had been failing tremendously.
She would've felt better had it been about him being grouchy since he was an inch away from death, but he was still stuck on the argument they had that night which bothered her beyond belief.
"You know what I'm talking about. And at this point I'm fed up. Imma just contact my lawyer and have him draw up some divorce papers." He shook his head, opening the silver fridge, causing her heart to drop.
She had to think about it for a second before she smirked. "We aren't even married." She said matter of factly promoting him to pause in his tracks.
He laughed slightly, feeling the soreness around his collarbone area. "You right, I meant I'll have him pull up our contract. Then I'll sue you—then what? You're broke." He watched her smirk quickly drop.
"Stop thinking you got all the playing cards baby girl because you don't. We made a deal, and if you can't hold up your end of it that's fine with me. I'll send you right back to the ghetto ass hood that I got you from." He taunted, walking over to the sink slowly.
She watched him rinse off the green apple. "Marcus this isn't fair, how are you penalizing me for something I have no control over. If you kick me out I'll have no where to go. I burned all my bridges." She softened her voice in attempt to gain some sympathy from him.
