LEGACY DAYLION HENDRIX
SUNDAY EVENING
MARCH 18th, 2023.

"I WAS JUST about to make me a grilled cheese. Y'all want one?" Legacy's grandmother, Shirlann, began making her way through the cozy home, towards the nice sized kitchen.

Kataleya and Legacy trailed after her, not too far behind. Kataleya found herself gazing at all the pictures of small legacy, legend, and Taylor that were plastered everywhere.

"Yes ma'am," Legacy brought his palm to the right side of his neck awkwardly.

"Uh, no thank you." Kataleya replied, her eyes still glued on the pictures of a child legacy. "These are you right?" She pointed, keeping her voice low.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom, and I'll be right back!" Shirlann rushed out, turning to the right to make her way down the hallway. The hallway was also full of framed pictures on the wall.

It was obvious but she wanted him to confirm for her. The boy looked up at the picture, seeing eight year old him missing his bottom front tooth. His mind instantly flashed back to being that age—over ten years ago.

"Yeah." He verbalized after a few deadly moments of silence. "Legend had knocked my tooth out cause I asked for a dollar." He informed her like it was nothing.

She gasped at his subtle words. He'd said it like it was normal when she would've strangled Kaycee if it were the other way around. "For what?" She questioned.

He smirked, "So that I could get money from the tooth fairy instead. As long as I split half." He responded with a slight shrug to his shoulders.

"Spilt a dollar in half?" She squinted her eyes at him, keeping her voice low. He pulled a seat out from underneath the wood oak dining table, letting her sit.

He laughed under his breath. "We ain't get dollars, we got five." He informed her. He sat next to her as his grandmother came into the kitchen. She headed straight for the fridge.

She scoffed. "Lucky." She muttered responding to him.

"What are you two love birds talking about?" She questioned grabbing the cheese slices from the fridge.

"I was telling leya about when legend punched my tooth out." He reminisced about eight year old him, and ten year old legend.

Most would've found the story about legend and legacy's tooth funny. He didn't because he knew there weren't any good intentions behind what he had done.

He'd only did it to benefit him in the end.

"Oh. Yeah legend was a handful back as a little kid." Shirlann shook her head. She only had a total of two children, and three grandchildren. "What's your name sweetie? You are so beautiful."
