His grip tightened, indicating growing tension. "Why did you sound so bitter when mentioning Nyl's name? Why are you using the same tone I use when talking about your idea of dating Cyrus Venturo?"
Hindi ito sumagot.
But he insisted. "I have the right to question your decision and to get mad about it, but how about you, Lawrah? Anong karapatan mong pakialamanan ang pakikipagkita ko kay Nyl?"
Pinilit ni Lawrah na bawiin ang kamay mula sa kaniya. Pero hindi siya bumitiw.

"No, you're not going back. We're leaving. And you still haven't answered my question."
Huminga nang malalim si Lawrah. "Ano ang inaasahan mong isagot ko? Ano ang gusto mong marinig? Na masama ang loob ko dahil kasama mo ang Nyl na iyon buong gabi?"

Hinila niya ito at iniharap. Nalilitong tiningala siya ni Lawrah.

"Believe me, Lawrah, hindi ko rin maintindihan ang sarili ko. And you did this to me, so take all the blame."
And before Lawrah could even say something, he hastily grabbed her by the nape and pulled her close— closing the gap between them— before lowering his head and claiming her lips.
