CASSIE was going to kill Percy, she was sure of it. Why on earth did he leave to fight alone? Probably his hero-complex.
The brunette had quickly gathered the rest of the group, and as they went to find Percy, Thalia thought of a plan.
Cassie tried to follow she really did, but she was terrible at paying attention- she managed to get the main idea though, something is something.
The DiAngelo kids were with Percy, Dr. Thorn turned out to be a super ugly manticore, who had them captive by a cliff.
Because that's a good idea, have a school full of children beside a cliff.
Annabeth, with her cap of invisibility, knocked the DiAngelo's and Cassie with her bow and arrow targets Dr. Thorn so he couldn't reach them without getting hurt.
Thalia and Dr. Thorn got into it quickly, fighting with each other precisely and obviously, aiming to kill.
The sound of a helicopter was getting louder and louder, Cassie knew she had to act fast.
Dr. Thorn knocked Thalia out and Cassie stepped in, not with her bow, but with her sword kairos (that even came with a Greek curse! Cool huh?)
Dr. Thorn's tail swinged at her, so while she fought she had to be quick on her feet.
Grover managed to grow some vines that slowed him down, but that just pissed him more, and he took it out on Cassie.
"Cassiopeia Bradbury! The General will recompense me greatly when I bring you to him!"
Cassie looked at him dumbfounded. "That sounds like a toxic relationship."
Dr. Thorn got confused, which Cassie took advantage and stabbed him in the tail, he let out a low wail.
Cassie could hear his heartbeat, loud and clear (a thing of Eros's kids), but she didn't want to kill him by the heart. It just wasn't... humane.
"Cassie!" Percy shouted in warning.
She turned around and saw Percy, a bit messed, up but it wouldn't be Percy any other way, his eyes were wild because of the adrenaline, a little strip of blood falling from the corner of his mouth-
Dr. Thorn took advantage of her distraction and smacked her with his tail, sending her backward against a tree. At least she was with her friends.
Black spots began to dance in her vision, the noise of the helicopter got louder.
Dr. Thorn laughed. "Yield little heroes!"
Cassie groaned in pain. "Sir, you're delusional."
But they were trapped, the helicopter one way and the monster the other.
Then she heard a clear, piercing sound: the call of a hunting horn blowing in the woods.
