THERE were too many goodbyes.

Too many heavy hearts, too many funerals, too many weeping, simply too much.

They spent the next day treating the wounded, which was almost everybody. The satyrs and dryads worked to repair the damage to the woods.

At noon, the Council of Cloven Elders held an emergency meeting in their sacred grove.

The three senior satyrs were there, along with Chiron, who was in wheelchair form. His broken horse leg was still mending, so he would be confined to the chair for a few months.

The Council judged Grover, and how not, Silenus was determined to get him exiled.

And it looked like Silenus was going to get Grover kicked out, until Mr. D appeared, his vote counted twice (or so he said).

"Well," Annabeth said to Cassie, "Grover seems to be growing up."

Cassie nodded. "I think we all are."

"How are you doing? With Castor and all."

"I'll be okay." Cassie knew she would be okay, specially after destroying Kronos.

She had hesitated at the Labyrinth, she should've stabbed Kronos when his body was still missing a piece, but she wouldn't repeat her same mistake.

The two best friends looked at each other sheepishly.

"I'm sorry," started Annabeth, "I snapped at you- and well... I'm sorry."

Suddenly Cassie hugged the blonde. "I love you Annabeth, you're my best friend." She slowly released her. "But we have to talk, if something bothers you, you have to tell me. And the same goes for me."

The other girl nodded. "I'm sorry."

"I snapped too, and if we're being completely honest, I've always wanted to be as smart as you are."

Annabeth blinked surprised. "Really?"

"Yup," Cussie nudged her, "but don't let that get into your head."

Annabeth hugged her.

"You're killing me Annie."

The blonde laughed. "Oh hush."

IT felt good to have a regular dinner at camp. The sunset over Long Island Sound was beautiful.

Things weren't back to normal by a long shot, but they had won that battle.

What worried Cassie was Nico, hanging out in the shadows at the edge of the pavilion.

He'd been offered a place at the Hermes table, and even at the main table with Chiron, but he had refused.

After dinner, the campers headed towards the amphitheatre, where Apollo's cabin promised an awesome sing-along to pick up their spirits.
