BIANCA ended up appearing, which would've been great if it would've been because of Nico.

But it wasn't, the young boy wanted his sister and said sister wanted a life outside the constant responsibility of having to care for Nico.

Killian never appeared, Cassie didn't know if that was good or not, but whatever, she totally didn't care.

None of them were anxious to travel that night, so they decided to wait until morning.

They crashed at Geryon's ranch, Cassie and Annabeth sharing a bed and Grover and Percy another.

The two girls slept huddled together, their body heat proving comfort against the chill of the night.

"Cassie?" Annabeth's voice was small.

"Hm?"

Annabeth paused. "Never mind."

Whatever it was, the blonde didn't tell, and Cassie was too exhausted to try and look further into it.

CASSIE woke up before anyone, her friends were still sleeping, but she couldn't go back to sleep.

She just went along with things, but she didn't know where she would be in three years time, the future looked looked and felt a hazy dark fog.

Castor and Pollux were going to university, Annabeth would probably go too, most people at camp had an idea of what to do, but she didn't.

The brunette wasn't particularly smart like Annabeth was, or a natural leader like Percy, or a huge empath like Grover. She was just there.

Nobody really took her sword skills serious because she liked talking about clothes, so she wasn't a swordswoman either but just a pretty face. But beauty didn't last, people would eventually get bored of looking and leave.

She stepped on the porch, the morning coldness enveloping her. But someone else was there, giving her his back, sat at the end of the porch, lost in thought.

Cassie sat beside him, silently. "Hey."

Nico didn't say anything, he was an angry child, he would never talk again the way he used to.

Cassie hesitated. "I know you don't like me much."

Nico scoffed, that much was true.

"But you're alone Nico, that's a fact. Ghosts are not good company." Cassie would know.

Nico mumbled something under his breath.
