THE THREE ended up going to Sally's apartment, before doing anything else.

Safe to say Cassie loved Sally Jackson, if you would to ask her, she was a living legend.

While Percy went to call his friend, Annabeth, Sally and Cassie chatted.

Sally smiled at Cassie, and offered her another blue cookie. "Have another one, you're going to need all the energy you can."

Annabeth took another, eating it much slower than Cassie did.

The brunette accepted the cookie and ate it in a bite. "You have to tell us your recipe."

Sally laughed, practically warming the room. "Let's do this, when you finish this quest, I'll show you how to do them yourself."

Cassie grinned. "We have a deal then."

THEY found Rachel Elizabeth Dare in front of the Marriott Marquis, and she was painted gold completely.

Cassie could faintly remember her from the Hoover Damn, the mortal that could see through the mist, it just hit her that she actually had met her.

She was standing like a statue with five other kids all painted metallic - copper, bronze, silver. They were frozen in different poses while tourists hustled past or stopped to stare. Some passers-by threw money at the tarp on the sidewalk.

The sign at Rachel's feet said, urban art for kids, donations appreciated.

They stood there for, like, five minutes, staring at Rachel, but if she noticed them she didn't let on. She didn't move or even blink as far as Cassie could see.

"Maybe if we push her over," Annabeth suggested.

Cassie smiled, more like a cat than anything, "just a little shove."

After another few minutes, a kid in silver walked up from the hotel taxi stand, where he'd been taking a break.

He took a pose like he was lecturing the crowd, right next to Rachel. Rachel unfroze and stepped off the tarp.

"Look who lives," Cassie mumbled.

"Hey, Percy." She grinned. "Good timing! Let's get some coffee?"

Cassie mentally rolled her eyes, Annabeth seemed to like her as much as Cassie did.

They walked down to a caffe Rachel loved, and ordered their drinks.

"So," she said. "It's Annabelle, right?" She looked at Cassie. "And Cassandra, do I remember it right?"

"It's Cassie," the girl smiled, "but it's a common mistake Reebcca."

"Rachel."

"Didn't I say that?"
