A/N: so I ended up calling in sick because my boss wanted me to. In the end it was so bad I had to stay home for two weeks. I'm just thankful I didn't need to go to the hospital, though there were instances in which I thought I might should have gone.

Anyway, I'm better now. I hope you all are healthy and doing good.

Have fun reading :)

The next day, Diana tiredly walked into the station. She wanted nothing more than to just get to her desk and get her work done.

"Detective Ryder, if you could spare me a few minutes."

She turned sideways to look at Sergeant Grey. He stood in the door frame of the meeting room. Behind him were standing most of the other officers, very obviously in the middle of roll call. She hesitantly followed him inside the room. "What can I do for you, Sergeant?"

He crossed his arms. "In the morning, an old friend of mine reached out to me. We were together in the Academy. He is now a Sergeant and yesterday night was called as a supervisor to the scene of a regular traffic check his officer was doing."

"With all due respect, Sergeant Grey, there was nothing regular  about that traffic check," Diana said, stemming her hands onto her hips. "That officer is a racist, sexist and discriminative pig that pulled me over for no other reason than my looks. He pulled his gun at me and my nineteen year old friend and arrested us before searching my car without a warrant or any reasonable suspicion! My friend was terrified. was terrified. If I hadn't been a cop-" she threw her hands up, anger bubbling deep inside of her. After a few seconds, she took a deep breath and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "If your friend wants you to talk me out of reporting this to Internal Affairs, it's too late. And if he wants you to stop me from going on and on with this till that bastard  is off the streets, then I'll have to disappoint you. That won't happen."

Grey also crossed his arms. "He was asking me to send him a copy of your video so he could show it to his officers. He wants to show them the scenario as a form of lecture. He doesn't want them to repeat officer Singer's mistakes."

"Oh." Her shoulders sank. "Of course. Yeah, I can send him the video connected to a one-time link. I don't want it circulating. It's good that he's gonna talk to his subordinates about what went wrong, but I want neither my friend not myself to be showcased like that."

"I understand. I will inform him."

"Thank you," Diana nodded. She wanted to turn around and leave, when Lucy's voice reached her ears.

"Are you okay? I mean, that must have been so bad."

The woman shrugged. "To be honest, it wasn't my first time."

"What?"

"Black woman growing up in Texas? Come on guys."

Diana bid her goodbyes and then left the room to get to the big office she shared with about two dozen other detectives. At her desk, Charlie was already waiting. "Hey, are you okay?"

"God, does everyone know already?"

"Burk walked in when Sergeant Caradine was watching the video IA send him. As your boss, he has to testify for you that your doing a formidable job. That will back up your statement."

Diana rolled her eyes.

"Detective Ryder?"

The woman stood up and nodded her head in greeting at her boss. "Sergeant."

"IA has announced the official appointment for Officer Singer's disciplinary hearing, the 13th of the next month. When that day comes, you have to repeat your official statement to the Chief. I will be going with you on that day, as well as a lawyer."
