A/N: I'm sick ╥﹏╥ but I'm German so I refuse to call in sick for work. As if a sore throat keeps me from going ᕦ😤ᕤ

Though I sound like a chain smoker and basically can't do anything....

Anyways, have fun (≧∇≦)/

"You must be Detective Ryder."

"I don't know if I have to be," Diana joked, shaking hands with the man who had just approached her. She nodded at her partner. "That's Park. It's nice to meet you, Detective Armstrong."

"I see news travel fast," the Night General chuckled. "Sergeant Caradine sent me to you concerning a file. He wouldn't specify what this is about, though."

Diana thought for a moment before jumping off her desk she was previously sitting on. "Right." She opened her bottom drawer and got out a file she handed to him with a mysterious smile.

"What's in it," the man asked, one eye brow raised cautiously.

"See for yourself."

Frowning, he took the file and opened it. As soon as he saw the content, he cracked a smile. "Coffee shops?"

"And take out places. The best ones in our precinct," she smiled. "It's the file that's given to all the new kids around. Before you, I was the greenie."

"Well, thank you very much, Detective Ryder."

"Please, call me Diana," she offered.

Armstrong smiled. "Nick. Well, thank you for this. It was nice to meet you. I'll see you around."

"See you around, Nick."

Once he was gone, she turned to Charlie. "I quite like him. He seems nice."

"Yeah," Charlie nodded. "I guess so."

At lunch, Diana sat outside at the Taco Truck along with Lucy and Jackson. Nolan was busy with Nick, showing him around the precinct and working on a murder.

"I just don't know what to do. I mean, how can Grey only give me two days to find a new place to live?"

"That's why you never arrest your landlord, Jackson."

"What was I supposed to do? I caught him dealing with drugs."

"When I'm off duty I'm off duty. I like to imagine myself with blinkers," the detective winked.

Jackson pouted. "You know I couldn't have done that. What am I gonna do? Do I really have to move in with Smitty?"

"What?"

"Long story."

Lucy sighed. "Anyway, Bradford's Sergeant exam is drawing closer. When we're on patrol and in the car, he wants me to read his study lectures to him. I offered to drive so he can read, but he wouldn't let me."

"Maybe he's an auditory type of learner. You know, learning by listening."

"That could actually be it," Lucy gasped. "I thought he was just trying to torture me. Gods, why didn't I think of it?"

Diana shrugged. When she was still living in Texas, Carlos and her were studying for the police academy together. Carlos had a hard time studying, though he excelled in the practical tasks. One day, she remembered the words of her teacher from years ago, telling them something about different learning types. She looked into it and tried out each style together with him. It turned out he was more of a learning by doing type of guy, so she took him to the court or to sit at the precinct to listen to actual cop talks. His father being Texas Ranger helped with getting access to these kind of places.
