For those of you who are confused: The characters that appear in this chapter are (in order of appearance) from Scorpion, SWAT, NCIS LA and B99. All of them are really good shows, I just love them and would really recommend watching them.
You don't need to know the shows to understand the conversation though. It's really just Diana being insecure and spending time with her friends :)
Have fun ヾ(^-^)ノ
_"You kissed him?"
"Like a fool," Diana whined, before sighting deeply and going back to what she was currently doing. She held up a long sleeved, black shirt. "Too much cleavage?"
"For work? Yes. For a family trip with your conservative father and over protective brothers? Definitely. For a hot date? Slay, girl. Be careful or you'll turn me gay."
Diana laughed along with Angela. The two of them were out shopping, since both of them felt like they could use some girl time.
Angela held up a pretty dress. "Too flowery?"
"Damn."
"I get you don't like it?"
"I just would have never thought that you would like it," Diana committed. "It just doesn't seem like your style at all."
The Latina took a second look. "Yeah, you're right..."
"What is it?"
"It just-" she sighed. "It's something Wesley said."
Diana remembered the lawyer her friend was dating. She had only met him a few times, but had never held an actual conversation with him. "What about him?"
"He... okay, so basically there was this really stupid situation a while ago and before, we had never really talked about where this would be going but now... He got a call and wouldn't tell me who it was and I reacted super jealous which is very unusual for me and I snooped through his stuff and eventually it was his mom," Angela rambled on, not noticing the way Diana had to supress a grin. "And well, he told me how his relationship with her was a rollercoaster and we got talking about family and he mentioned introducing me but you don't get it. They're rich. Like Dagobert Duck rich. I eat my cheese sandwiches in the shower!"
"Calm down there, girl," Diana said, having to remind herself that she was talking to a human, not her horse cheesecake back home in Texas. "He asked you to meet with them, that's it. One meeting. And there will be food, which you don't have to pay for. Great right?"
"What if they don't like me?"
Diana shrugged. "Wesley said their relationship is strained. Simply convince him to cut her off. Oh, and hope she doesn't change her testament, that way you'll be rich in a few years time." She winked.
Angela let out a small chuckle, but worry soon ascended again. "Have you ever been introduced to parents?"
"Well..." The Texan grimaced. "I have been but... y'know, I always preferred women for something serious but kind of had a talent in picking those damaged and broken ones with daddy issues and stuff so... the meetings never went well."
"Sounds like you dated toys."
"I once dated a woman who was obsessed with looking like Barbie. I don't remember what she did for a living, but she made a shit ton of money. Let herself be build a Barbie Dream House. It even had a slide. It was really cool."
Angela nodded along. "I learn more about you every day."
_"You kissed him?"
"Only on the cheek, cut that judgemental look ok your face."
