"I love you."
"Okay."
"I said I love you."
"Yeah, I know."
"Diana!"
"Evan," the woman rolled her eyes, her tone laced with annoyance. "You have said that at least a dozen times since yesterday. On the car ride home, when we arrived, during movie night. After movie night. When I went to bed, when I-"
"Okay, I get it." He held up his arms in defense. "I just want you to always remember that you are loved an- and that you're not alone. I mean you can always call me or Athena, Bobby, your Brother, whoever... but please, there's no shame in admitting that you need help or that you're hurting. You-"
"Buck," she interrupted him. "I know all that. And I know I should've said something sooner but I..." With a sigh, Diana decided not to go on. He was never in her position. He didn't know how she felt or what she was going through at all.
Still, he was there for her and she couldn't be more thankful for that.
"Well then." The Detective removed te seat belt. "Thank you for driving me. I love you, idiot."
Chuckling, she got out of the car and ignored the strange looks everyone was giving her as the handsome blonde screamed out his love for her over the parking space.
"You seem to be in a good mood," Lucy pointed out when she joined her side. "Met someone?"
"Nah, my roommate's just being a dork. I don't know why I'm friends with him."
"Well, he's cute." Lucy wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at her.
"Who is cute?"
Both women turned around, finding Officer Bradford standing there with his arms crossed. They shared a glance, silently deciding not to go there. Simultaneously, both of them shrugged.
"Whatever, have you heard about Thalia? Her brother? She's got IA on her now."
"Never thought you'd be one to gossip, Tim," Diana chuckled lowly before letting her smile disappear. "What happened? I didn't know she had family."
Bradford glanced down at his wristwatch, his action not going unnoticed by the two women.
The p1 nodded at him. "You can go change, I'll file her in."
Once he was gone, Lucy pulled the Detective to the side and started talking in hushed whispers. "Apparently, Bishop has a brother with a criminal record. She left him off at the P.H.Q. when she applied to the academy. Last night, she had to arrest him and revealed it to the Sergeant."
"Not good," Diana thought out loud, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "She could get fired. And she was supposed to be promoted soon but... well, now?"
"You really think it's that bad?"
"A brother with a criminal record could influence the chance of getting into the academy," the Detective explained. "Actually, it would have probably destroyed her chances of getting accepted completely. Something like this influences your view on things, the police department doesn't want to put up with something like that. We should hope she gets to stay in her job... and that this doesn't get to court."
"What will they do now?"
She shrugged at Lucy's question. "Dunno, probably review her file and all her cases, talk to her colleagues and her former trainers. But I'm not sure, never knew anyone in this situation."
"What about Nolan?"
"Prolly gets a different TO for the time IA is reviewing her."
The officer squinted her eyes at her friend, sudden suspicion rising withing her. "'Dunno'? 'Prolly'? What has gotten into you?"
