Hey guys, welcome back 🎉
As you can see, I'm not dead (̷o̷n̷l̷y̷ i̷n̷s̷i̷d̷e̷)̷ and back to publish a new chapter.
btw, I cried tears of joy when I found 'Daddy Cop' on Spotify. I just love that song 🎵
And yeah, have fun reading :) _
"So he doesn't want you to meet his parents?"
"Yeah," Angela nodded. She took an aggressive sip from her morning coffee. "I mean, I don't know why, but this isn't good. This isn't good at all."
"Parents can be complicated," Diana shrugged. "I only ever met the parents of a few past relationships, it never really went well."
The officer shook her head, a resigned look on her face. "But we're living together. It feels like we're taking a step back in our relationship."
"Don't say that, remember that he told you they weren't on the best of terms? Just go there, assess the situation and talk to Wesley afterwards."
Angela sighed. "I just- I love him, I really do. But this makes me feel really insecure."
"There's no reason for that. I mean, your feelings are valid and I'm definitely not telling you otherwise, but just think about it. Go through with it tonight and should you still feel like that, talk to to him about it."
"Thanks, you really give good advice."
"For someone who has a basically non existent love life you mean," Diana chuckled, but there was no humor or in her voice.
"You'll find your someone eventually," Angela smiled, forgetting her own problems. "You're gorgeous. If I was into girls, I would have hit you up long ago."
"Shame you're not. I'd marry you on the spot." _
"I want to set Tim up."
Diana blinked, confused. She took one look at Lucy, who seemingly wanted to go on, and held up her finger, successfully silencing her.
She took a sip of her coffee, set the cup back down and only then allowed her friend to continue.
"We made a deal. If I can set him up on a good date, I get to wear short sleeves."
"Set him up," Diana repeated.
"Yes."
"On a date."
"Yes."
"Tim Bradford?"
"Yes, come on, is that so hard to believe?"
Diana chuckled and shook her head, standing up from the table in the break room. "I hope for your sake that you don't have to flash the precinct or something like that in case you loose."
"Wha-"
But the detective was already leaving with an uneasy feeling in the pit of stomach. She quickly swallowed this weird confusion down and returned to the side of Charlie, who came back from the food truck to get his lunch.
