By the time the sun went up next morning, Diana knew a little more about this guy. He didn't like to talk, so she had to keep blabbering the whole night just to get a little out of him.

Thanks to the peoples rights for privacy, no cameras were allowed inside the holding cells and those outside weren't recording sounds, so they only had to look out for the officers that had the night shift.

But with just the little he told her, she realized there was more to this drug selling ring than just some bored lawyer and his gangster. Apparently, Steve wasn't as charming and law abiding as he seemed, but the contact to a guy named Paco.

She heard that name before. Paco Hernandez, a guy who was known throughout whole California for smuggling drugs inside the US.

And even more importantly, Steve owed a great deal of money to Paco. Too much to just let him go like that. Paco needs Steve to get his money, but Steve is going to prison because they found drugs on him, at least that was what Diana overheard before they got arrested.

Steve, Spornack and Eve would be transfered later that day to a temporarily, very prison like building where they would stay till they could be brought before the criminal judge.

When they would be at court, it will be difficult to capture the guys... so Paco must send his men to get them on either their way from the police station to prison or from prison to court.

I have to be extra careful on the way.

It was eight in the morning when some officers came in and handcuffed the two of them to get them ready for the transfer. As they got informed about what was going to happen now, Diana took notice of Officer Chen out I the corner of her eye. She had obviously just finished roll call as she was carrying two heavy bags and two shotguns with her to get ready for patrol. Their eyes met. Diana gave her a discreet nod before she was led away.

Like she predicted, they had to take another route and were suddenly ambushed on their way to prison. Another two cars pulled up in front of them and behind them, trapping them in between. Two guys exited each car and pointed their half automatic riffles at the small bus. Without hesitation, they began to shoot.

The two officers who were with them had no choice but to fire back and request back up.

Just great. I have to wait till units arrive at the location so they can take them down. Then, they will try and arrest Steve and Frankie.

Diana crouched down to where her feet rested and held her head between her knees, still managing to observe Steve and Frankie from her position. The two of them were hiding like her, when one of them suddenly attacked on of the officers from behind and brought him down, taking his gun which he then pointed to the other officers head.

The hail of bullets came to a halt. Meanwhile, more units had arrived at the scene, a dozen officers now taking Paco's guys in custody.

Steve slowly walked towards her and helped her up, leading her outside and behind Frankie who still had the officer at gunpoint. He held her close, a wide grin on his face while the woman in his arms analyzed the situation.

A dozen officers before them, their Seargent had arrived too. Among them she found Bradford and Chen. The rookie was giving her unsure looks. She probably didn't know if she should say anything.

"It's over. Frankie, put the gun away and put your hands in the air," Bradford demanded, but Frankie just laughed like a maniac and pulled the officer even closer. "Not a chance. He is my ticket to freedom."

The blonde Officer now looked at the man who still held Diana close to him. "Steve, do you really want that? You're a lawyer, you know that the best option you have is giving up now."
