A/N: Part in Italics is a backflash. It's important if you want to understand the siblings relationship between Diana and Judd better.
Not gonna make a comment about gun violence in the US, I don't want to spark up any arguments.
It's still fucked up (ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻
TW: mentions of gun violence, death, blood, amok runner
As always, have fun :)
_"Diana Ryder," Bradford called out her name disdainfully, throwing his hands up. "Just why? "
Lucy chuckled. "Come on, it's not that bad. She just asked us to drop by the house of a friend of hers while she is gone."
"She is gone for two weeks," he exclaimed, stopping the car. "And that 'friend' is an seventy somethin year old woman who needs help with her house. Do you want to clean up the house of a stranger?"
"Diana usually helps her out now and then. Please, we won't be here for long," she smiled optimistically as both she and her TO left the shop.
The two of them approached the house. Before they could even ring the bell, the door opened and a very nice looking older lady with a friendly smile stepped out.
"Oh, you must be the Officers Diana sent here to help me out. I'm so sorry to trouble you but she insisted. Please come on in." She ushered them in.
Besides the usual old people smell, the two officers immediately noticed the many cats strolling around them.
"You must be Officer Bradford. Diana told me how much of a good friend you are to her."
His eyebrows shot up. "Did she?"
The woman smiled. "Well, my name is Margret, but you might call me Peggy." She handed a small shovel and a bucket over to him. "Diana also told me you just love cats. She told me no matter who you would be coming with, you would be insisting that you should be the one cleaning the cat toilet."
Lucy snorted so hard she started coughing.
Eyes wide and with a clenched jaw, the male officer stared down at the woman. "She did what now?"
"Oh yes. She told me you had a cat when you were younger."
"How does she even-"
"Cough, Isabel, cough," Lucy told him subtly after the initial shock had died down.
Bradford's shoulders sank. That damned-
"Anyways, the cat toilet is in the bathroom. Second door to the left," Peggy smiled before turning to the officer in training. "Would you be able to help me with my garden, dear? My Geraniums just aren't willing to come to life again this year. This has never happened before."
"My mother really likes flowers. If you want, I could give her a call."
"Oh, that would be great. But I don't want to bother her."
"Nonsense. I'm usually the only one who has to listen to her talking about flowers to no end. At least her knowledge is of use today."
Without acknologig him any further, the women walked past him, chatting about flowers and garden work.
Looking at the small shovel in his hands, he couldn't help but curse Diana Ryder in his mind.
_"You are mean, you know that?"
Diana laughed. "Please tell me you took a picture. I would have loved to see his face when he cleaned up after the cats."
"I was in the garden. Peggy is really nice. How did you meet her?"
