Being on a sick leave sucks.

At work, Diana missed a lot of great things, but the rookies caught her up on everything.

- Nolan was stalked by a crazy woman because she compared him to her dead husband. They met when he saved her live on patrol.

- Lucy had her first night shift and got the usual horror movie prank that was organized by Tim. Of course he had t-shirts made for everyone.

- the rookies were accused of stealing 250 thousand Dollars that were confiscated during a drug bust. Of course, it wasn't any of them. Lucy nearly got kidnapped and killed by said drug dealers underlings, who wanted to give them the fault since they stole the cash along with a corrupt cop.

- Lucy moved into the the apartment of a murder victim at a cheaper price. 25% off the first year. Great deal.

- Plain Clothes Day came around. During that, Lucy had texted Diana repeatedly, asking for advise on how to handle Bradford. Apparently, she screwed up and Tim had to help her out. Jackson was stuck at the precinct half of the day because the shop needed fixing and after that did the boring clerical work for Detective Wolfe. Nolan also made a few mistakes and nearly let a bad guy get away. But that's okay, they're rookies, still learning. And at the end of the day, they all made it and no one had to leave the program.

Diana had her fun, too, when she suggested that Chen should also write an 'evaluation' about Tim and give it to him. Yep, it turned out to be their bar tap. She could only imagine his face when he received it.

- the rookies got pranked. Everyone told them to make an advertisement video for the LAPD and they really did it without even questioning it. But to be fair, it was hilarious to watch.

The first day Diana Ryder stepped into the precinct again was six weeks after the earthquake. As she had head surgery, part of her hair had to be shaved and was now busy growing back. Since she was uncomfortable with that weird 'hairstyle', she decided to wear a beanie. Not really professional, but better that cutting her hair short altogether.

As she walked through the bulding, she took in the scent of in dust covered paperstacks, old man's sweat and disinfection spray. Ah, I missed this.

"Diana, you're finally back," Lucy exclaimed upon seeing her, quickly giving her a hug. "We missed you here."

"She's right, you know?" Jackson came up from behind her, giving her a quick hug, too. "Time went by terribly slow without you. But I'm sure gonna miss those muffins you made out of boredom."

Suddenly Nolan joined the group out of nowhere. "Did somebody mention muffins? Did you bring any? I put on three pounds in the last months thanks to your baking."

Diana laughed at him, shaking her head in amusement. "It's not my fault there was nothing I was allowed to do! And I bake when I'm bored, a habit I picket up from my mom, I guess. And yes, they're in the break room."

The three rookies perked up at the mention of her mother. Usually, the woman never mentioned her mother, only ever talking about her father and brothers when the topic 'family' came up. Up until now, they just assumed that she died when Diana was young or simply wasn't in the picture.

Noticing the looks the officers were sharing, the Detective quickly bid her goodbyes and went upstairs to her desk.

Upon entering the room, many other Detectives stopped to express how happy they were for her to be back. Since she first joined Mid-Wilshire, she established many relationships with many people around the place, but mostly her fellow Detectives.
