Chapter 31

SAKURA POV

A couple days later we were doing another patrol this time there is a rescue involved. A civilians house caught on fire for some reason and the water heroes were having trouble containing it.

"Dragon heart help them, Dynamight your quirk isn't useful in this situation so you help me keep the crowd back" yelled best jeanist 

I run to the water heroes and let my scales turn blue and I start breathing water on the flames.

My enhanced hearing picks up this sound of crying and I stop and listen realizing it was coming from the burning building.

"Why are you stopping kid?!" Asked a nearby pro "we need to get this fire out!"

"There's someone still in there!" I yelled back "it sounds like a child"

"We already cleared the house" he said "there's nobody left inside"

I look back at the crowd and see a woman trying to break past the pros blocking her from getting close.

"Please my daughter is in there!" I heard her cry.

"Kid help with the fire!" Yelled the pro again

"My senses never lie" I said as I'm engulfed in flames, turning into a small red dragon and I run into the fire ignoring the calls behind me.

"Scales are you out of your mind?!" I hear katsuki say

"They weren't going to listen" I replied "someone has to save her"

I slink and squeeze through the burning debris and I follow the sound of cry to a small cabinet. I gently nudge it open and find a little girl about 5 years old holding a stuffed bunny crying.

She looks at me with teary eyes and I transform into my normal form, my scales red.

"Hey sweetheart" I said gently "let's go get you to your mommy ok?" I offer her a hand

The little girl nods and takes it.

"What's your name?"

"Hailey" she replied with a sniffle and a cough.

"Ok Hailey" I said with a cough as my lungs start to burn from the smoke. I pull a small breathing mask from my belt. "I'm going to put this on you to help you breathe then imma turn into another little dragon and have you on my back to get you out ok?

She nods and I quickly put the mask on her and turn into a blue dragon and she climbs on my back. I use my tail to keep her in place. I then take off back through the hose my lungs now screaming since I'm not in my fire dragon form.

Going as fast as I could I try to avoid as much fire as possible till I see an exit. I hear a creak and look up to see a beam start to fall and I jump back, covering Hailey with my wings to avoid getting her hurt. I growl when I realize our exit was closed off.

"Katsuki I need you to help spot a way out!" I said "our exit was blocked off"

"There's a window in the left room from the door"

I hurry to what I believe was a living rooms and I se the window.

I turn back into my normal form and press Hailey against me as I cover us both with my wings

"We're almost out" I tell her. I then run forward, shielding her and I charge through the window, breaking it, tumbling down yet still protecting her from glass and the fall.

Once we're out the house explodes and I cover her with my body. Wincing as I'm hit with a mix of glass and debris and I feel something big hit my back and I let I put a soft pained yelp and I'm pushed down a bit more.
