“Are we going to come in or not?” tanong ni Ryuu ulit sa akin kasi ignore ang first question niya. -__-
I let out a deep sigh and stared moodily in front of the to be coffee shop ni Marie. I felt Ryuu’s shoulder move kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya. Kaya pala, the jerk was silently laughing at me.
“What is so funny?” yamot kong tanong sa kanya.
“You look so uncharacteristically torn, that’s why,” he said patting my head.
“Para kasing hindi ko kaya pinapagawa ni Marie sa akin eh,” I said bowing my head.
“I told you to stop worrying too much but if it bothers you so much, let me ask you this: Why do you think that she chose you to design her coffee shop?” he said putting his finger at the tip of my nose.
Honestly, how does he expect me to answer a question when he’s so close to me like that? I didn’t expect that Ryuu always crave physical contact, wala sa mukha kaya and besides, nakaka-intimidate pa siya madalas. Come to think of it, sanay na ako sa kaniya. Back to the question, iniwas ko iyong mukha ko sa kaniya to shook off the confusing thoughts and pouted. Bakit nga ba?
“Kawaii . . .” he said suddenly grabbing my chin and turning my face towards him then looked at me in wonder.
Did he just say cute in Japanese? Shemay!!! Bakit bigla ka namang ganyan kung kailan hindi ako handa?!
“Ryuu naman eh . . . I was trying to think,” I said cringing away from his proximity.
“I would say I’m sorry but I’m not . . .” he said winking at me while resuming his original position.
“Behave kasi, Ryuu,” I said weakly, my voice still shaking. No wonder, girls fall for him because he can be so sweet effortlessly.
“So what’s your answer?” he replied mischief still in his voice.
“Because I’m her friend?” I said unsure.
“I don’t think so besides she’s a very shrewd person though I don’t know her personally, I think hindi siya basta-basta pipili lang dahil close kayo,” he explained.
“So dahil alam niyang kaya ko?” tanong ko agad.
“That must be it,” he said smiling encouragingly.
“Phew. That comforts me a lot,” I said exhaling.
“By the way, pinapabigay niya ito sa iyo kanina when she gave me the key earlier,” sabi ni Ryuu habang inaabot sa akin ang isang post it note which Marie always use.
“I trust you,” I read which really made me smile and gave the confidence that I need.
“By the way, magkano ang bayad sa atin?” he asked suddenly.
“It’s free of course, she’s my bestfriend!” I said in outrage.
“That’s probably one of the reasons,” he said.
