"No, Mai, we're not doing that."

Bakugou yanked Mai from the young girls who were pulling her away from the group. One of the girls then pulled the pink-haired girl harder, to which Bakugou glared down at her. "We're trying to talk to her." She informed in a threatening way. "Yeah- me too." Bakugou spat back.

"We wanted to first!" She responded. "Well I want to now!" The blonde remarked. "That's not fair!" She cried back. "Life's not fair!" Bakugou responded. One of the girls stepped forward, raising her leg and slamming her heel into Bakugou's foot.

"You-!"

"I'll be right back." Mai interrupted, smiling at the girls sweetly, before pulling Bakugou back towards Camie, Todoroki and Inasa.

The group of five stood in the corner of the arena, talking in a hushed tone in an attempt to win the hearts of the children around them.

"Everything we do isn't working!" Inasa complained, his face crumpled in annoyance. "Maybe we should just fight them." Mai shrugged. "I mean... maybe it's like, a reality check we need to give them." Camie nodded.

Mai had already got fed up of the amount of times she's heard 'like' come out of Camie's mouth.

"We need to make them think 'wow', or 'cool'. But if you lose to an opponent you look down on, then it'll just make you feel like crap." Bakugou began. "At this point, these kids will cause trouble like I did in the provisional exam." Inasa confessed.

"I don't want them to go down the same path as me."

"Widening those kids' horizons is something we should be able to do." Mai shrugged, looking back towards the kids with a smile.

"We'll show you guys... we're better then you!" One of the young boys yelled out, the group of kids behind him with their quirks ready to be used on the five soon-to-be heroes.

"Bring it on, brats." Bakugou smirked, small explosions coming from his hands.

Each child shot their attack with their full strength at Mai, Bakugou, Todoroki, Inasa and Camie continuously. That was until a child spat out a cannon ball and a large explosion sounded. The students under Gang Orca's care began to cry out for him to help them but when the dust settled, the five students remained in the exact position as before with not one scratch on them.

"They're pretty brave." Mai hummed, brushing off a small piece of dirt off her shoulder.

"And pretty crazy, they just attacked us with no hesitation." Bakugou added.

"It seems they think they can do whatever they want to aspiring heroes." Todoroki chimed.

"Let's attack them again!" The same boy as before yelled, looking towards a young girl beside him. "Yes! Queen Beam!" She yelled, shooting a love heart towards Todoroki.

A small explosion sounded and when the dust settled Todoroki smiled charmingly. "Oi, oi..." He reached his hand out towards the group of kids. "I want to see your cute face. Don't spoil it with wrinkles."

"I won't!" The young girl responded, a large smile and a blush on her face.

Suddenly, Todoroki disappeared and in his place was Camie. "Sorry, that was just an illusion, but like, wouldn't you love if someone said that to you? Our school's so old fashioned it doesn't allow dating..."

Mai and Bakugou shared an incredulous look before they burst into laughter. Bakugou immediately mimicking the illusion that they had just witnessed. "I want to see your cute face..." He repeated, reaching out with a smoulder on his face.

"I thought that was good! Glamouroki!"

Mai burst into laughter, clutching her stomach as she looked between the two. Todoroki placed a hand on his chin in thought. "Was it really that funny?" He questioned, looking at Mai and Bakugou almost on the floor with laughter.

"Enough, let's do what we spoke about before!" Inasa exclaimed, slamming his hands onto the floor. A flurry of wind shot the kids into the air, along with all the rubble shot around by them moments before. Camie blew a cloud out, surrounding the area with Northern Lights. As soon as the rubble and kids were in the right place, Todoroki shot his ice to form a slide park of sorts.

Mai sprinted forwards, using pillars Todoroki was shooting out to leap high into the air. She grasped one of the young boys' arms and threw him towards one of the slides, doing the same to another girl.

The five students walked through the halls of the exam centre, heading for the exit of the building. "Thinking about it, I totally like you now!" Inasa droned on, annoying all three UA students.

Mai fell into step with an annoyed Bakugou. "You're pretty good with kids." She voiced to him, elbowing him playfully. "The hell?" He responded, giving her a look. "Obviously... I'm good at everything?" He added gruffly. "Usually people just respond with a thank you." Mai huffed, glancing back to Todoroki.

"You're not bad Bakugou. You could be totally good if you learned to like shut up. You should shut up." Camie hummed. Mai couldn't help the small snicker come out of her mouth at Bakugou's disgusted face. "You shut up!" He yelled, not looking back at the girl.

By the time Bakugou, Mai and Todoroki made it back to the dorms, it was the evening and darkness had surrounded them.

"I don't know, she gave me bad vibes if I'm honest. I mean, speak clearly, what type of hero says 'totally' and 'like' every three words. You guys know what I'm saying, right?" Mai ranted, opening the doors of the 1-A dorm building. "I'm gonna speak for us both and say we didn't listen to one word of that." Bakugou answered, flicking on the lights of the sitting room.

"CONGRATULATIONS!"

The three jumped out of their skin, staring at the group of students in front of them. The class of 1-A stood with a large cake and many banners strewn around the place. "Good job on getting your provisional license!" The crowd cheered.

Mai smiled brightly, pulling her pink-haired friend in for a hug. Mina swung her around madly before placing her back on the floor.

"Let's eat!"

a/n i'm embarrassed to say this short chapter took me MONTHS to write. college is killing me rn and i just have absolutely no motivation to write anything. hopefully i'll get it back soon but for now enjoy this short chapter!

also, i know that wasn't their actual exam canonically, but i'm sick and tired of them not having their provisional license so i'll let it be their exam, it won't change anything about the plot just that they have their licenses faster so i can start writing about Heroes: Rising!
