━ chapter thirty five

The two young women stared at the two men on the floor. 

"I feel like that was too easy." Mina frowned. Mai nodded along to her friend, "at least we're halfway there." She responded. 

"Who do you think passed?" Mina asked as the two girls roamed the small town area. Mai placed a finger on her chin as she thought. "Todoroki, Momo and Katsuki for sure!" She guessed. "I think Kaminari and Kirishima too." Mina nodded. 

"Splitting from the rest of your class? How cocky are you UA students?" Mai and Mina spun around to see several students from another school. Mai tilted her head at the group. "You only have... seven people with you, so you must've split from your class too, right?" Mai called out. 

The girl in the front shook her head with a smile, "no, the rest of our class have already got through." She informed smugly. "Can you say the same-"

"So, you guys are like the runt of the litter?!" Mina calls out, interrupting the girl. "Eh?!" The group of students simultaneously yell. Mai plastered her usual smile on her face. "What Mina-Chan was trying to say was; 'so you guys are the bottom of your class'." Mai corrected.

"EH?!"

"I knew UA students were cocky assholes, but I didn't think they were this bad!" One of the boys from the crowd yelled. Mina and Mai gave each other a confused look. "What makes you guys think that?" Mai frowned. "Maybe you guys just think we're cocky because we're better than you." Mina suggested.

"Enough! Take these idiots down!" The girl in the front yelled. 

A student raced towards Mai, his fist raised and as he was about to make contact- Mai spun around speedily, delivering her special move into his stomach. He flew back and slammed into two other students. Effectively knocking them out. 

Mina shot acid at one of the girls and as she was distracted sent a flying kick into her face. 

"That's four down, four to go?" Mai smiled at Mina.

A familiar yell caught Mai's attention. Foolishly she stopped what she was doing. The sound of her target being hit met her ears and Mai looked down in shock. The target on her thigh was lit up in red. 

"Mai-Chan!" Mina cried out. 

"Not so tough-" Mai swung her leg out, tripping the girl up and slammed her heel into her forehead.

"Mina-Chan! I think Iida is in trouble-"

"Go! I can take these!" Mina reassured, swinging her acid covered fist into the third-last student. "Are you sure?" Mina smiled brightly at the girl. "See you in the next round!"

Mai sped off towards the sound of her friend. If anyone deserved to pass to the next level it would be Iida-San, hell she would rather he pass than her! It would break her heart.

Skidding to a stop in front of the destroyed rocky terrain in front of her, she noted this must've been the explosion her and Mina had heard earlier when they first split from their class. Mai spotted Iida and Aoyama in the centre of a large group of students.

She knew exactly what to do.

The eleven students who passed their exam stared at the screen in worry. "Everyone!" A yell caught their attention. Bakugou was the first to turn. "Mina-Chan!" Uraraka called out. "Where's Mai-Chan?" Kaminari commented. Mina's smile faltered slightly and she pointed to the screen in front of them.

Her pink-hair was unmistakable, even though the camera was videoing from a large distance away. Bakugou brought his hand to his mouth, covering it nervously.
