Mai stood at her locker; head pressed against it in worry as she waited for the boy she was looking for to come through the door. "...I can assure you Midoriya-Kun, I'm sorry for worrying you." Her eyes snapped open and she turned around, throwing her arms around the blue haired boy.
"Oh, Tenya-Kun." Mai cries, "I was so worried." The boy is stiff underneath her, before slowly patting her back. "Please Kumiko-Chan." He reaches to her shoulders, slowly pushing her back. "Hugs are not for school." He speaks. She bows, "I'm sorry!" He shakes his head. "Thank you for your worry, but it is not needed. My brother and I are fine"
The three reach class and Mai walks across the classroom towards her seat, although as it's taken by a certain yellow-haired boy she decides to sit down in the next best place.
"Morning, Kirishima-Kun, Kaminari-Kun, Kaachan." The girl smiled cheekily at the blonde boy in front of her. The three boys' heads snap to the girl. "Morning... Mai." Kaminari choked on his spit and his face was bright red as his eyes landed on the girls exposed thighs.
She sat on her desk, her legs swinging innocently as she smiled at the three.
Bakugou didn't fail to notice his friends reaction to the girl, his eyes darkening slightly. "Get off the desk, Kumiko." Bakugou demanded. The three students in front of Bakugou had never heard Bakugou sound like that. It wasn't that he sounded his regular mad, in fact they would've been more relaxed if he sounded mad. No- he sounded infuriated.
Mai's eyebrows lifted slightly in shock as she'd never heard the boy say her name like that. "Bakubro-"
Bakugou's head snapped to the red-faced boy sitting at Kumiko's desk. "Shut up, Dunceface." He looked back up to Kumiko. "Off." She didn't know why she listened to the blonde. But found herself sliding off the desk anyways.
The pink haired girl looks down at him in innocence. "Are you okay?" She questions. He huffs and looks away, "Shut up. I'm fine, just sit down." He demands. She sighs in annoyance, "Kaminari-Kun is in my seat." She gestured towards the occupied seat. "You want me to sit on the floor?!" The boys eyes snapped to the yellow-haired boy in Mai's seat.
"It's fine." She crosses her arms, walking towards the back of the room to her girl friends. Unbeknownst to the pair of eyes trailing after her.
Mai leaned back in her seat, stifling her laugh as Bakugou showed his whiteboard with the words 'King Explosion Murder,' written across it. The entire class filled with tension at the words and everyone stayed silent. As he huffed at Midnights feedback and sat back down, Mai let out her small laugh. "That was a really good name for a hero, King." She teased. "Shut the fuck up, what's yours then?" Scribbling an extra part on her board, she glances at the boy with a smirk.
"I'm glad you asked." Raising her hand and walking up to the front of the class, not failing to notice everyone's tension. Turning her board around, she shows everyone. "Neko no joō."
(queen of cats, or cat queen)
Placing her elbows on the podium and leaning her head on her palms, she looks dreamily towards Bakugou, "Now I can be the Queen to your King." She sighs happily. Some laughter choruses throughout the room. Everyone simultaneously thanking the girl for easing the tension in their minds.
That afternoon, Mai stared at the sheet in front of her.
Six-hundred offers.
Mostly just because of her parents and their reputation. She sighed and glanced through them, looking at the boy next to her who already had chosen.
Bakugou feverishly scribbled 'Best Jeanist,' down, ready to hand in by the end of the day. "You haven't chosen yet, loser?" He looked at the pink-haired girl next to him. She shook her head, her tongue was sticking out as she was surprisingly focused. He leaned over, looking at her offers. "Tch, I got more." She snapped her head up. "Yeah, surprisingly considering you were chained to a log like a dog." She replied back.
"WHA-"
"Kumiko-Chan~" Mai looked away from one blonde to the the other. "Bonjour Aoyama-San." She giggled. The boy gasped dramatically. "Tu sont français?! Ah, ça va?" The girl smiled at the boy, not responding. He stared at her expectantly.
"Esce je peux aller en toilette?" She spoke after over a minute of silence.
The boy stared at her for a moment, before letting out a loud laugh. "Oh, bon dieu." He wiped a tear away and walked off. "What were you stupid extra's talking about?" Bakugou asked from beside her. The girl turned back to the boy wide-eyed. "I thought I was asking about his day."
At the end of class, Mai handed her sheet up to Aizawa with confidence. She was excited with who she chose.
"Interesting..." Aizawa spoke aloud. The energetic girl in front of him nodded excitedly. "Yup!" She exclaimed, not waiting for a reply and skipping out of the classroom, ready to go home.
"Actually, it makes a lot of sense." He sighed, glancing back to the sheet with the name 'Mirko,' scrawled upon it.
