☆ CHAPTER SIXTEEN ☆
{ tell me which one is worse }
Two weeks later, Valyria was again without her brothers and mother, only having the Targaryen children to bring her any source of entertainment or social interaction. At the moment, she was sitting in a carriage along with Viserys, Aegon, and Alicent. Everyone else was in a separate carriage.
"It has been far too long since the Lords of the Realm have gotten together to hunt, has it not? My, the last time must have been Aegon's second nameday," her Grandsire said, nodding at Aegon.
"Was it eventful?" Aegon asked, trying to start up a conversation before he shot himself out of boredom.
Alicent's eyes widened and she looked away as if to say yes.
"Um..yes, I would say so." Viserys chuckled at looked at Valyria, who had elected to simply watch the scenery from the window.
"Your mother was involved in an accident. I don't believe she ever truly told me what occurred. She simply walked back to camp in front of everyone covered in blood, with Ser Criston behind her. A strange sight."
Valyria nodded. She knew of that event, it was one of her father's favorite stories that Rhaenyra told him of her childhood.
"Let us hope you are as accomplished a hunter as you are a swordswoman," Alicent said quickly to Valyria, who finally looked at them instead of the window.
She did intend to hunt, and she intended to kill.
Alicent did not, and it was apparent. She wore a light green dress and held her red hair in a bun. The others, though, wore different.
Valyria wore dark red sleeves and a short-sleeved turtleneck brown dress. It was almost identical to the one her mother had worn on that fateful nameday. And she had her hair in a braid over her shoulder.
Viserys wore his normal kingly attire, but Aegon was also dressed to hunt in dark green clothing.
The carriage finally stopped, and Viserys got out, Alicent holding his arm. Then Aegon, then Valyria. She stepped out, and the sun glinted, making her smile.
From beside his mother, Aemond watched as the girl stepped out, holding Cole's arm to steady herself, then thanking him as she let go.
Otto Hightower, who stood beside his daughter, looked disapprovingly at the princess
"Do you plan on hunting?" She nodded, and he shook his head. "The answer is no. You will sit with the other girls."
Aegon, who heard this, was about to yell at him when Aemond moved to stand beside Valyria.
"And why would she do that?" Aemond asked patiently but looks could be deceiving.
"My boy, the woods are dangerous. Let us not forget what nearly happened to a princess on your brother's nameday." Aemond was losing his patience, and so was Aegon. They were nearly at their peak when the unexpected occurred.
