In the wee hours of the morning, Valyria found herself unable to sleep. She woke up, and had an eerie feeling, as if something wrong had happened. She swiftly changed into a black dress that was backless with long sleeves and reached her ankles.

She walked outside of her door, and Cole looked solemn.

"Something has happened, I know it. Tell me. Now." Cole looked down at her. "The king is dead." She gasped, and a hole in her heart made its presence known. She nodded, her voice shaky.

"Where is Alicent? I must speak to her. My mother must know."

"The Greens have called for an emergency Small Council meeting. They are there now." She paled and knew. "They are plotting. They are plotting to put Aegon on the throne. To steal my and my mother's birthright."

He nodded, then looked at her seriously. "Princess, what do you wish to do? I am loyal to you and only you."

She nodded and composed herself.

"Ser Criston, I need you to do what I say and exactly what I say. If any different, my plan will fail."

Cole barged into Aegon's chambers and Aemond, who was with him, roused his elder brother. Aegon groaned. "What?"

"Father is dead." Aegon sat up. "What?" Aemond explained the situation as Aegon dressed, and put a black cloak on. "Me? I don't want it." Aemond scowled.

"They don't care. Valyria has come up with a plan, and it's a rather good one. We need to hide you in the city while Cole sends a raven to Rhaenyra. She is spying on the Small Council meeting at the moment."

Behind a screen, where Daemon had once been listening in as she was, Valyria watched and listened. Jason Lannister, the new Lord of Ships, was there and commented about Dorne being invaded.

Valyria clenched her fist at their treason. Otto was going to replace the two City Watch captains who were loyal to Daemon. Apparently, Alicent knew nothing of it.

But, Beesbury was against it.

And he died for it.

"The door remains shut until we finish our business."

"Storm's End is of concern," Jason started, "We may not assume the loyalty of Lord Borros. But he has four daughters, all of them unmarried. The right proposal..."

But he was cut off by Alicent. "What of Rhaenyra?" Valyria stilled as Otto spoke, but Alicent shook her head.

"She will never bend the knee. Nor will Daemon, which you know. You plan to kill them. And all here accede to this." She scoffed.
