{ I know you had a long night }

Valyria walked back to her bedroom, having danced and drank and enjoyed her nameday, but at that moment, felt sick. She opened the door and saw Melara.

"Draw me a bath, Mel." The handmaid nodded and quickly got to work. Valyria didn't even blink as she heard the door open, and the smell of wine flooded her senses.

"Help me?" She asked softly as her eyelids fluttered. She was tired from a long day and just wanted to sleep. Aegon was silent as he untied her dress' laces, and he grabbed a robe from the floor, draping it around her shoulders.

The dress and corset slipped to the floor, but he did not see her nakedness. He placed his chin on her shoulder and looked into the mirror in front of them.

"Happy nameday, Valy," he murmured and smiled. She leaned the side of her head against his and closed her eyes as she hummed a thank you.

It was intimate, seeing her like this, Aegon thought to himself. Valyria never let herself truly let go when she was with others, and he was honored to be with her.

"My lady—" Melara saw the scene in front of her, and could see how exhausted the princess was. Aegon looked at her for one of the first times and didn't even spare her a second glance, no matter how beautiful she was.

That was strange for Melara, but she was almost glad. She wanted him to remain faithful to his betrothal. Only the Gods knew how long that would go on.

"The bath is ready," she said in a softer tone. Valyria seemed to remember and grunted softly as she opened her eyes.

"You're too tired," Aegon remarked, frowning. She chuckled. "Don't you know to never tell a woman that?" She joked, but he just scowled.

"My lady—" Aegon waved the handmaid off, but she stayed put. Aegon saw that as defiance, but Valyria knew that it was loyalty. And, they were not supposed to be alone without a chaperone.

"Mel, I will be there momentarily." The handmaid nodded and walked outside into the hallway. Valyria blew out a laugh and looked at Aegon's pout in the mirror.

"We can talk before I wash." He sighed and nodded reluctantly, and that was how they ended up sitting on pillows on the floor. Valyria crossed her legs and placed a pillow in her lap.

For precautions, you see.

"Aemond's nameday is soon," she commented. He nodded. "He will be ten and three, and I do not believe he has ever seen a woman without a dress on." She sent him a look.

"That's because he's not a manwhore charlatan. Like you," she said with a sarcastic smile.

He ignored that last comment, and thought for a moment. He knew that his brother also loved Valyria, but he had never even kissed a girl. Aegon hoped that...maybe...if Aemond were to be with a woman, then he would no longer want Valyria.
