{ At every table, I'll save you a seat }
As the doors to the dining room opened for Valyria that night, she already knew that it would be a catastrophe. She saw Aemond and Aegon arguing about something at the head and went to them.
"What are you arguing about now?" She asked under her breath. Aegon huffed. "Do I drink too much, darling?" Her lips parted in surprise, then hesitated.
"Not too much..." She trailed off. Aegon knew she was lying, and frowned. "I do?" Aemond rolled his eye. "I've been telling you this for years, Valyria tells you once, and you admit it?" Aegon ignored his brother, who kept going.
"Walking around drunk, spilling wine...You're a menace." He looked down at his princess, who looked uncomfortable.
"What troubles you, darling?" He asked, instinctively reaching to hold her hand, then stopping. Aemond trailed off, noticing it as well. She was looking nervously at the table.
"Nothing," she dismissed, then was met by two princes giving her the look. She sighed and glanced around to ensure no one heard. "I worry that we should push the wedding date further." Aegon frowned. "Why?"
"Because she doesn't want to leave Aemond, obviously," Helaena muttered as she walked over. She rolled her eyes. "Why can't the two of you just share? It would be much easier, and you could...enjoy her, at the same time. She'd like that."
Valyria caught her innuendo and turned a bright shade of red. Aegon grinned as Aemond arched a brow. "Really?" He murmured. Helaena walked away, and Valyria shook her head.
"Let's just...sit." She didn't get the chance to before Viserys was carried in, and they all stood. Finally, he sat, and so did they all. Valyria sat beside Aegon, and beside Aemond, who was at the end of the table.
Helaena was on the other side of Aegon, to her right, and Otto was beside Aemond and Alicent across from them.
"How good it is to see you all tonight...together." Viserys then grunted, and Alicent said a prayer, as was her tendency.
"This is an occasion for celebration, it seems. My grandson, Luke, will marry his cousin, Rhaena, further strengthening the bond between our houses. A toast to the young prince...and his betrothed."
Everyone toasted.
"And, let us toast to Prince Jacerys, who will marry my daughter, Helaena. Hear hear!" They all toasted once more, and Valyria saw Aegon whisper something to Jace, causing him to put his cup down firmly.
Valyria sent him a glare, and Aegon sighed as he put a hand on her thigh and squeezed affectionately.
"Let us toast as well Prince Jacerys...the future Lord of the Tides. Hear, hear."
