☆ CHAPTER TEN ☆
{ The coward claimed he was a lion }
Valyria rode up to camp and stopped by the large tent. She dismounted and shushed the horse. She called the stablehand and gave the horse back, then smoothed her dress down and walked back to the dining table.
Everyone was laughing under the dark sky where a large boar was roasting over a bonfire. The fire and small torches were illuminating the otherwise gloomy night.
Viserys noticed Valyria first as she walked by the bonfire and up to the table.
"Ah, Valyria! How was your—are you well? You look spooked." She gave him a hollow smile and nodded as she stopped in front of the table.
"Of course, Grandsire. I am just tired. I haven't ridden in too long." Visrys nodded and she took her seat by Aemond and Helaena.
Aemond noticed how she slouched back in her seat and looked forlorn.
"What troubles you, Valyria?" She looked up and smiled halfheartedly. "Nothing, Aemond...I am simply contemplating something." He frowned and lowered his mouth to her ear.
"You can't lie very well, Valyria." She scoffed and looked away as he straightened once more. He sighed. "Valyria, I know something is wrong, please, just—"
"Aemond, stop!" She snapped, then immediately felt horrible when she saw him flinch. She sputtered the beginning of an apology but he just looked forward.
She groaned quietly. She didn't know what to do.
If she revealed the Lannister's deeds, then she would never be allowed to leave the Keep again. But if she didn't, then it could come out anyway, and she would be painted as the villain.
She felt a poke on her shoulder, then turned to look at Helaena's face. She looked contemplative.
"I would tell them. The golden-haired are pompous enough, do not let yourself be perceived as weak. At the very least, exact revenge," Helaena muttered to herself.
Valyria had stopped being shocked at the things Helaena knew about a month ago when she had predicted too many things—too many to simply be a coincidence.
"How? How do I exact revenge?" Helaena looked up with glazed eyes. "I don't believe that you will have to. Not only I know of his treachery."
And with that, the glaze disappeared and she just looked at her food and began to eat. But, of course, Valyria was confused and wished that Helaena was not so cryptic.
She too ate, when she heard a commotion. Viserys had been laughing with Otto and congratulating Aegon when he too saw something near the Lannister tent.
The Lord Commander rushed over, and then Valyria saw it. He was pulling Cole off of the Lannister Lord who had attacked her earlier. Cole was yelling obscenities, but another Kingsguard pulled the sword from his hand.
