It had been another half year, and the time came around for Aegon's nameday.

Valyria's was celebrated by a visit to Driftmark on her part, where she met her family. Aemond's with a small ball for close family. Helaena would not allow any celebration of any kind, much to Alicent's dismay.

But Aegon was the firstborn of the Green children, and Alicent would make a fuss.

It was his fifteenth nameday. And this was a big deal for the entire realm. Viserys, who was fond of tradition, elected to hold a hunt, just like for his second nameday. Once again, they were in a carriage.

But, this time, while the children were all alone in a carriage, there was a chaperone. Otto Hightower had gotten it into Viserys' mind that Valyria was becoming womanly, and she needed a chaperone when alone with the princes.

Ser Criston had pulled the short straw.

Valyria was wearing something similar to her last hunting outfit. This time, she wore dark brown boots, a light brown sleeveless dress, and deep red sleeves. It was incredibly similar, she realized.

Her hair was done in intricate braids down her back—her hair now reached her waist. She sat in the corner reading a book about House Lannister.

"What are you reading about, princess?" Cole asked. She sighed and looked up. "House Lannister. Horrid people." Cole chuckled. "They're not so horrible. In my experience—"

"They are the most pompous, ponderous cunts the gods ever suffered to walk the world?" She guessed.

"We will see," Helaena murmured to herself.

Aegon snorted and laughed as he woke from his slumber. Aemond rolled his eye and continued reading his own text, while Helaena was simply drawing some kind of insect.

Cole sent her a disapproving look. "Princess..." He said warningly. She scowled. "I know, I know, Cole. 'A princess shouldn't act in such a manner, especially a future queen, Valyria.'" She quoted him. He sighed and looked outside.

"We are nearly there. Now, Valyria, you do remember the rules." She nodded and looked down at her book. Cole waited. "And..."

"No hunting, shooting, spear-throwing, sword fighting, running off, or straying more than a hundred paces from a member of the Kingsguard. Does that fulfill your wish?" She asked, feeling increasingly bored as she flipped a page and read the next sentence.

"Through the female line, they boast the descent from Lann the Clever, the legendary trickster of the Age of Heroes who swindled Casterly Rock from House Casterly," she recited.

"I think we would get along swell, what do you think, Valy?" Aegon asked as he crossed his arms behind his head and peeked at her. She rolled her eyes.

"Swindled...Yes, I would say so. If you weren't a prince you'd be locked up for at least fifteen crimes." Helaena interjected, "Actually, sixteen. Just a fortnight ago." Aegon grumbled to himself, and Aemond sighed.
