{ Uh-oh, I'm falling in love }
Valyria felt like she was shining from the inside as entered the dining room to break her fast. Viserys looked up at her and a bright smile covered his face. His daughter looked so beautiful.
It was something that Valyria had begun to do a few months earlier. She wore clothes like her mother and did things as Rhaenyra did to make sure that she did not worry her grandsire. She made sure that he was comfortable.
At the moment, she wore a red dress with sleeves that went to her elbows and reached mid-thigh. As always, she wore her sapphire dragon necklace, but she also wore sapphire earrings.
Aemond had given them to her the day before — for her nameday.
"You look radiant, my daughter. Come, join us." As always, Valyria sat between Aegon and Aemond, but this time, Aegon put his hand on her knee when she sat, making sure that no one saw.
Valyria showed no reaction, but she did move as if to smooth her dress down, and she placed her hand on his before removing it once more.
"I have excellent news," Alicent said between chewing. "We will be holding a tournament for Aemond's nameday." Viserys looked confusedly at Valyria, but she just smiled.
"Aemond's nameday is in a fortnight, grandsire. We will be holding a tournament." Viserys' face suddenly lit up.
"The Heir's Tournament. Where is dear Aemma? Has Daemon arrived yet?" Alicent looked away. She remembered Queen Aemma. She was kind and just and just wished for a son. She loved her daughter, though, and did not deserve that bloody end.
"Aemond's Tournament," Alicent enunciated sharply. But that confused Viserys.
The meal quickly descended into silence, when Helaena looked around Aemond to Valyria. "Niece, shall we go for a walk in the garden today?"
Valyria hesitated, but she was cut off by a prince.
"Apologies, Helaena, but Valyria and I will be visiting the Dragonpit today," Aemond said, leaving no room for discussion. Alicent frowned. "My son, I do not think that—"
"I am sure we will be fine," Aemond said and took a drink from his cup. His coldness with his mother stunned the Green Queen. Viserys stood, and everyone else did as well.
"Enjoy your time in the pit. Rhaenyra, be careful on Syrax, please. I cannot have the heir dying on dragonback." And he was gone, the thumps of his cane fading into the distance.
Aemond took Valyria's hand and whisked her into the hallway. He was walking quickly, and she almost had to jog to keep up.
"Aemond! Aemond, slow down." He stopped, and she almost tripped. He then looked at her sharply. "Go change, we will be flying today. We will not be back until later this evening."
