☆ CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT ☆
{ They say I did something bad }
Rain or shine, Valyria, and Aemond were dedicated and would confer with the Maesters and write to the Citadel constantly, always hoping to find more. It vaguely annoyed Aegon, and so he finally stormed in one day after only seeing Valyria once that entire week.
Valyria was nowhere in sight, but he saw Aemond and decided that he would feel his fury. He snatched the book from Aemond's hand and threw it to the floor.
"Why have you taken Valyria every day, Aemond?" He demanded. He missed her, and she was always either in the library or at her private sword-fighting lessons with Cole.
Aemond was annoyed but could see his brother's distress. Alas, he was the one spending time with her, and he wished it to stay that way.
"I'm not taking her, Aegon. If she wishes to see you, then she will. At the moment, she is looking for books or scrolls on Daenys the Dreamer and—"
Aegon walked with determination into the sea of shelves, knowing exactly where BC (a/n Before Conquest) books were from Aemond always dragging him about when he was younger.
"Valyria?" He called out, then heard a shush, and walked in that general direction. His allergies were going haywire with all of the dust, but he didn't mind. He was on a mission.
Finally, he saw her holding books in one hand and reaching up for another.
Valyria was finally able to find the scroll she was looking for, but it was too high up. She felt warmth behind her, and a hand reached up and grabbed the scroll effortlessly.
She turned and was surprised to see how close they were to each other. He smiled down at her, then handed her the scroll.
"You've been spending all your time here, so I decided to visit. How are you, Princess?" He asked, his voice smooth and reminded her of honey.
"I am well. I apologize, Aemond and I have been so engrossed in our work that I have neglected you." He nodded, then tilted his head thoughtfully.
"It's alright, I suppose—"
He saw her wide grin and realized that she had been messing with him. She giggled quietly, then pressed a small kiss to his jaw.
"I shall see you tonight, yes?" And she ducked under his arm, walking away with a big smirk on her face. He just stood there, his cheeks progressively getting redder and redder from embarrassment.
"Yes, my princess."
After a day of researching, Valyria was exhausted, but she still wanted to meet Aegon. She quickly changed out of her dusty brown dress with Melara's assistance, then replaced it with a flowing off-the-shoulder light purple dress and did her hair in waterfall braids.
