{ i am the girl i've always been }

The murderer of Tyland Lannister was not found for years and years and years, but it had been almost three years since the night she had killed the Lannister. And, in those years, she had never felt happier.

Aemond would visit her on that balcony weekly, and every time, she would retreat back to her room shakily. Aegon and her would keep meeting in every place they could.

But, Valyria's nameday was in two weeks, and it was her eighteenth. Unfortunately, she had not bled. Alicent had consulted every Maester from the Red Keep to the Citadel, but no one had an answer why.

It was not as if the girl was not actually a female. She had the breasts, hips, face, and everything else of a female. Even the womanhood of a female. But, she did not have her first blood.

Alicent brought that to Viserys attention two weeks before she turned eighteen. She walked into the diagram room, and Viserys turned in his seat, then gave her a half smile. His condition had worsened significantly over the years, but he still awoke and tended to his model every day.

"Viserys, we must talk." The King dismissed the attendants, and Alicent sat across from him.

"What is it, dear wife?" He asked, almost calling her Aemma. He had been drugged on Milk of the Poppy for a while and got confused frequently.

"Valyria has not yet bled, and she is now a woman grown. I worry that she may never bleed." He scoffed.

"Late bloomers are common. Aemma bled at an older age, as did Queen Alysanne. We have already heard from the Maesters. Does Valyria's handmaid not report that the princess may bleed soon?" Alicent sighed. "Yes."

"Then she will soon. And when she does, we will marry her to Aegon, and be done with this betrothal nonsense. I wager that he will have bled before her nameday."

Alicent raised a brow. "You wish to wager?" He nodded happily. "Yes. If she does bleed before her nameday, her wedding will be on her nameday. If you win—"

"Then we will break the engagement between Aegon and Valyria," she interrupted. Viserys' happiness vanished, but he simply nodded.

"Then let us hope that she bleeds."

Valyria walked through the hallway slowly with an open book in hand, reading about House Baratheon. Behind her was Cole, who was actively making sure that she did not run into or trip over anything.

"Cole, do I have to do anything today?" She murmured. He chuckled.

"Not that I know of, princess. You have completed your lessons with your septa, all to do now is go to your dress fitting tomorrow for your nameday. But, you are supposed to break your fast with your family at the moment."
