"The royal family of Romulea has arrived, Princess. We must hurry downstairs," Miriam informed Danielle, laying out a pair of silver heels for her to wear.
"Am I already late?" Danielle inquired anxiously.
"Yes, indeed you are," Miriam replied with a pointed look, urging Danielle to quickly don her shoes so they could proceed.
With a swift movement, Danielle slipped on the heels and took her place in front of her vanity, allowing Miriam to touch up her makeup before pushing Danielle out of the room, as she did in the morning
Adorned in a stunning navy-blue gown embellished with silver accents, Danielle couldn't help but feel a twinge of self-consciousness. She had never always felt the need to dress extravagantly, it only drew attention and scrutiny.
"You're late," Daniel chided as he hurried past her, looking dashing in his tailored attire. A navy blue fitted trousers made from fine fabric and a crisp white shirt, neatly tucked in, and a navy-blue waistcoat that was layered over the shirt, complete with a sleek navy blazer. Danielle scoffed as she followed after her brother.
"You know, all the makeup in the world won't hide the fact that you're a weirdo," Daniel taunted.
"And dressing smart won't make you any smarter," Danielle shot back, refusing to let her brother's teasing get the best of her.
"Nice one. Do your stuffed animals give you standing ovations for the comebacks you come up with?" Daniel retorted, his laughter echoing through the hallway.
"Haha, so funny, I forgot to laugh," Danielle replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes at her brother's antics.
"You can't be the judge of that. You have no humor," Daniel teased, his laughter continuing as they made their way to the grand foyer to greet their guests.
"And you have no talent for comedy." Danielle replied with a sneer. Daniel stuck his tongue at Danielle not saying anything again as they both got to the grand foyer of the castle to wait for their guests.
"Were you two fighting again?" their father inquired as they approached.
"No!" they both exclaimed in unison, though their sheepish expressions betrayed the truth."
"King Atherius and Queen Venus with their children. Prince Cordoba and Princess Varanda of Romulea" The butler announced the presence of the guest royal family. The guest royal family came into the palace. The king of Romulea is a dark-skinned man with sharp brown eyes, donning a red and blue floor-length gown with flared long sleeves and high head gear. The queen too, and their children too, are dark-skinned and wear similar attire to the king.
"Good evening. It's so nice to finally meet the royal family of Romulea," their father greeted warmly as the guests entered.
"It is good to see you too," the King of Romulea replied graciously, exchanging pleasantries with the Eraklyon royals.
"These are the royal twins. Prince Daniel and Princess Danielle," their father introduced proudly, gesturing towards them as they curtsied and bowed respectfully.
"We were also accompanied by our children, Cordoba and Varanda," the King of Romulea added, indicating his own offspring—a boy and a younger girl.
"That's great. Our children could accompany yours while we speak to their parents," their mother suggested, directing her gaze towards Danielle and Daniel. "Show the Romuleans around while we speak to their parents.
"Shall we?" Daniel proposed, already striking up a conversation with Cordoba as they led the way.
As they strolled through the castle gardens, Cordoba and Daniel quickly bonded, their laughter filling the air. But Danielle couldn't help but feel increasingly irritated by their antics.
