At the mall, they traversed through various stores, yet Luna couldn't find anything that truly captured her interest. Danielle observed as Luna grew increasingly frustrated.
"How could you not find what you like in those stores?" Danielle asked after being dragged to the fifth store already.
"I don't know, why do storekeepers leave outdated clothes to populate their racks? I am not just shopping; I am taking notes on style trends and what's in season. These clothes look like something my grandma wore back in her day," Luna fumed as she aggressively examined a clothes rack.
"Well, maybe some styles don't need to change, and they are okay the way they are." Danielle remarked, after which Luna made a frustrated groan.
"I can't find anything!" she exclaimed loudly, drawing annoyed glances from other shoppers.
"But be a bit quieter; some people aren't very pleased," Danielle advised before being aggressively pulled down by Luna.
"What's wrong?" Danielle asked, as they were both now hiding behind a clothes rack.
"Peek through the clothes," Luna whispered, and Danielle did. "See that girl with the obnoxious hot pink glitter jacket." Danielle nodded. "That's Mindy."
Danielle gasped softly, recalling Luna's previous mention of the troublemaker. She watched as Luna's expression hardened; her eyes fixed on Mindy's flamboyant attire.
"Boyfriend stealer?"
"Yes, and my nemesis," Luna said, narrowing her eyes while still peeking through the clothes. "She looks so ridiculous. Hot pink was never her colour."
Luna said, and immediately there was a loud sound that caused the ground to shake. They stood from behind the clothes rack and saw people running out of the store in confusion.
"What's going on?" Luna said as they both went out of the store. Everywhere was in utter chaos. A dense smoke settled over the place, and people ran for their lives, screaming, contributing to the chaos that went on.
"Stay behind me, Luna," Danielle said as she cast a protective shield over them. The smoke finally settled and revealed three teenage girls floating in mid-air, causing the chaos and destruction.
One had red hair, held up in a ponytail with a dark red leather sleeveless bodysuit with a red line in a much lighter shade dividing the bodice into halves, with a double belt around her waist and a metallic letter S on her belt with platform boots.
Another one had dark hair with a dyed blue streak and a blue outfit similar to the first one but had short sleeves and wore fingerless gloves with the letter E on her belt.
The last one had light brown hair that was significantly longer than the other two. She instead had a purple leather minidress with purple translucent leggings underneath and the letter T on her belt. And they all had really bold makeup on in accordance with their colour scheme.
"Oh my, who are they?" Luna panicked behind Danielle, while Danielle still held up her shield. Danielle clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Witches!" She spat out with contempt.
"Look at these fools, oblivious to the power of magic," one of the witches sneered, her voice dripping with contempt.
"There is no perfect way to spend our last few days before heading back to the Cloud Tower," the witches laughed.
"Luna, immediately I let down the shield; run," Danielle said, and she dropped the shield and walked up to the witches. Luna ignores Danielle and stays back instead, not wanting to leave her all alone.
