The headmistress granted the girls a day off from classes to properly rest after the events of the previous night.

As the morning sunlight streamed through their dormitory windows, the girls gathered in the common room, still feeling the weight of the previous night's encounter.

"Well, we have a day off," Danielle said, stretching. "We should make the most of it."

"Agreed," Lithia said. "And I think we should start by helping Luna."

"Huh?" Luna turned to Lithia, confused.

"Last night, I started working on a software that could analyze brain waves and create a picture of what you're thinking," Lithia explained. "It might help us have an understanding about your origins."

The girls looked at Lithia in surprise. "That's amazing," Danielle said. "Do you think it could work?"

"I'm not sure, but it's worth a try," Lithia replied. "Luna, are you willing to give it a shot?"

Luna hesitated for a moment before nodding. "If it might help us figure things out, then yes, I'll try it."

"Great," Lithia said, smiling. "Let's set it up and see what we can find."

"I'd advise you to lie down," Lithia added, gesturing to a nearby couch.

Luna lay down on the couch, and Lithia began setting up her equipment. She placed small sensors on Luna's temples and adjusted the settings on her laptop. The other girls watched with interest, hopeful that this experiment might provide some answers.

"Alright, Luna, just relax and try to clear your mind," Lithia instructed.

Luna closed her eyes, taking deep breaths to calm herself. After a few moments, Lithia's screen began displaying waves and patterns, indicating that it was reading Luna's brain activity.

"Okay, we're getting some data," Lithia said, her eyes focused on the screen. "Let's see if we can translate these signals into images."

The screen flickered, and faint images started to form. At first, they were blurry and indistinct, but gradually they became clearer. The girls leaned in, watching as scenes from Luna's thoughts materialized on the screen.

"There," Lithia pointed. "That looks like the creature from last night."

The image showed the terrifying monster they had encountered, but there were also flashes of other scenes—Luna as a child, places she had never mentioned, and people she met.

"Look, it's Luna's adoptive parents," Danielle exclaimed, pointing at the screen.

Lithia's invention had brought forth an image of a kind-looking couple, holding a young Luna. The girls watched in awe as the scene played out, showing snippets of Luna's childhood.

"Lithia, this is incredible," Artemisia said, a broad smile spreading across her face. "You've outdone yourself this time."

"We can see her memories and thoughts," Carissa commented, her eyes glued to the screen.

As the images continued to shift, they saw scenes of Luna growing up, her adoptive parents caring for her and loving her. It was heartwarming, but it also brought a mix of emotions to Luna's face.

"Do you perhaps know anything about your actual parents?" Lithia asked gently, turning to Luna.

Luna sighed, "Not much," she admitted. "I do remember seeing my mother when I passed out that one time."

The girls chuckled softly, but their expressions soon turned serious.

"Do you remember anything specific about your mother?" Artemisia asked, leaning forward with interest.

Luna nodded slowly. "I didn't really see her face, but I remember how warm she felt and her telling me that she loved me."

Crystal said, her eyes wide. "Do you think you can remember any specific details that could have left any clues about where you come from?"

"I don't know" Luna replied. "It's kind of blurry."

"Maybe we can use Lithia's device to explore your memories further," Carissa suggested. "There might be hidden details you haven't noticed before."

"Ok," Lithia agreed. "Try to focus on that specific memory, Luna."

Luna nodded, a flicker of hope in her eyes. "Okay, let's do it. Maybe this will finally give me some answers."

Lithia activated the device, and the room was filled with a soft hum as it began to scan Luna's brainwaves. The screen flickered to life, displaying a series of blurred images.

"It's not clear enough," Lithia sighed, adjusting the settings on the device. The image on the screen remained blurry and indistinct.

"I'm sorry," Luna said, her voice filled with regret. "I don't remember it very clearly."

"Don't worry," Lithia reassured her, offering a comforting smile. "We've already got a good starting point with the image. All I need to do now is enhance it and analyze any peculiar details. It might take a few hours, but I'm confident we can uncover more."

Luna nodded, still looking a bit disheartened. "I wish I could remember more. It's just all so hazy."

Carissa placed a hand on Luna's shoulder. "It's okay, Luna. Memories can be tricky. The important thing is that we're making progress."

Luna sat up as Lithia disconnected the sensors from her. "We'll get there," Lithia said, giving Luna's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Let's give it some time, and in the meantime, we'll work on enhancing this image. Who knows what we might find?"

Luna smiled faintly, feeling a bit more hopeful. "Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate your help and support."

"That's what friends are for," Danielle said, smiling warmly.

"Absolutely," Carissa added. "We'll figure this out together."

The girls nodded in agreement, their determination renewed. Lithia turned back to her computer, ready to begin the meticulous work of enhancing the image.
