That weekend, the girls decided to take a break from their worries and enjoy a day out together. They started their day with a leisurely breakfast at a quaint little café in Magix. The café's warm atmosphere and delicious pastries set the perfect tone for their outing.
After breakfast, they strolled through the nearby shopping district. The streets were bustling with activity, filled with colourful market stalls and boutique shops. The girls wandered from store to store, trying on clothes, sampling perfumes, and admiring the latest fashion trends. They laughed and joked, enjoying each other's company and the freedom of a carefree day.
By midday, they found themselves at a cosy bistro for lunch. The food was fantastic, and their conversations were lively, and for the first time in a while, there was no mention of their usual troubles with the three witches.
"I can't believe we haven't encountered those witches today," Danielle said, her voice light with relief.
"Yeah, it's been a nice break," Carissa agreed, sipping her drink. "Let's hope it stays that way."
After lunch, they continued their adventure, exploring more shops and even stopping by a street performer who captivated them with his magical tricks. As the afternoon wore on and their bags filled with new purchases, they decided it was time to head back to Alphea.
Just as they were about to return, they passed by a charming little café tucked away on a side street. The café had large windows that offered a clear view of the inside, and Carissa, always curious, peeked through the window and suddenly gasped.
"What's wrong, Carissa?" Lithia asked, concerned
"Is it the witches?" Luna said as she joined Carissa to peek through the glass, and she saw what made Carissa gasp.
The others followed their gaze, and there, sitting at a corner table, was Caspian. He was laughing and chatting animatedly with a girl who had light pink hair. They appeared to be on a date, completely engrossed in each other. Crystal's heart sank as she watched them, the realisation hitting her hard.
"Crystal," Danielle said softly, placing a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder. "I'm so sorry."
"It's okay," Crystal replied, though her voice was shaky. "I guess it's clear now."
The girls lingered for a moment longer, watching Caspian and the pink-haired girl share a laugh. Then, with a final glance, they turned and headed back to Alphea, the lightheartedness of their day tempered by the unexpected sight.
The girls exchanged sympathetic glances, understanding the pain Crystal was feeling. They decided to continue their walk, wanting to give her some space but not leave her alone. As they made their way back to Alphea, they tried to lift her spirits with light-hearted jokes and encouraging words.
"You know, Crystal," Luna said. "Caspian might not have seen what's right in front of him, but that doesn't mean someone else won't."
"Yeah," Carissa chimed in. "You're amazing, and anyone would be lucky to have you in their life."
"Thanks, guys," Crystal said, managing a small smile. "I really appreciate it."
They returned to their dorms at Alphea. Crystal simply walked past them into her room and shut the door. The girls winced at the sound the door made and felt bad for their friend.
"My, I would like to give that guy a piece of my mind," Artemisia huffed, crossing her arms.
"For what, not liking Crystal back? I might sound insensitive, but there's nothing we can do here. It's not like he made any promises to her. Us just going to confront him will just make things awkward," Lithia said, trying to be rational.
"Sometimes Lithia and I are not on the same page, but I agree with this." Luna nodded. "Although, I really wanted to turn him upside down and let him hang from the roof of that café."
"Well, we can't exactly do that," Danielle said, trying to lighten the mood. "But we can be here for Crystal."
The girls nodded in agreement. They knew that what Crystal needed most right now was their support and understanding. They decided to give her some space but to be there for her when she was ready to talk.
Later that evening, they gathered in the common room, trying to come up with ways to cheer Crystal up.
"How about we plan a surprise for her?" Carissa suggested. "Something to take her mind off things."
"Like what?" Lithia asked, curious.
"We could have a movie night," Danielle proposed. "With all her favourite films and snacks."
"Or we could do a spa night," Luna added. "Facials, manicures, the works."
"Why not both?" Artemisia said. "We can start with the spa treatments and then move on to movies. It'll be a whole night of pampering and fun."
The girls agreed, excited about their plan. They gathered all the supplies they needed and set everything up, making sure the common room looked inviting and cozy. Then, they went to Crystal's door and knocked softly.
"Crystal?" Danielle called gently. "We've got a surprise for you."
There was a moment of silence before the door opened a crack, and Crystal peeked out, her eyes red from crying. "A surprise?"
"Yeah," Luna said with a warm smile. "We thought you could use a little pick-me-up."
Crystal opened the door fully, and her curiosity piqued. "What did you guys do?"
"Come and see," Lithia said, taking her hand and leading her to the common room.
When Crystal saw the setup, her eyes widened in surprise. "You did all this for me?"
"Of course," Carissa said. "We love you, and we want you to feel better."
Crystal's eyes filled with tears again, but this time they were tears of gratitude. "Thank you, guys. This means a lot to me."
They started with the spa treatments, laughing and chatting as they applied face masks and painted each other's nails. The atmosphere was light and filled with love, a stark contrast to the tension earlier in the day. Crystal began to relax, her worries slowly melting away.
After the spa session, they moved on to movie night, snuggling up with blankets and pillows as they watched Crystal's favourite films. They shared popcorn and other snacks, occasionally making jokes and funny comments about the movies.
By the end of the night, Crystal felt a lot better. She knew she was still hurt by what she had seen, but she also knew she had the best friends in the world who would always be there for her.
"Thank you all so much," Crystal said as the last movie ended. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You'll never have to find out," Danielle replied, hugging her. "We're always here for you."
The girls smiled and nodded, feeling closer than ever. No matter what challenges they faced, they knew they could get through them together.
