"They got away again," Electra seethed as the witches expressed their disappointment.
"All because of those stupid Red Fountain boys," Tasma groaned. Scarlett didn't say a word, but her silence radiated fury.
"Are those the girls who got you in trouble?" A green-haired girl emerged seemingly out of nowhere in their room.
"What the—? Amara?" Electra exclaimed in confusion, taking in the unfamiliar person who claimed to be Amara.
"Yes, in the flesh," Amara replied with a smile. "So, those are the pesky fairies, right?"
"Why should we answer to you?" Scarlett snapped.
"Well, since we're working together, I deserve to know. Besides, what was with that stunt you three pulled at the party?" Amara questioned. The three witches fell silent.
"Anyways, it created enough of a distraction for the plan," Amara said, snapping her fingers. An unconscious girl, bound with energy rings, appeared on the floor. She had been the one whose form Amara had taken.
"Her name is Serenity, and she attends Alphea," Amara smiled. The witches, stunned for a moment, soon started grinning, their earlier disappointment fading away.
Scarlett stepped forward, examining the unconscious girl. "Serenity, huh?" she mused, her eyes glinting with malicious intent. "This changes everything."
Electra nodded, her anger now replaced with a sense of renewed purpose. "With Serenity in our grasp, Amara can take her place at Alphea. They'll never suspect a thing."
Tasma smirked, crossing her arms. "This way, we can find the other half of the talisman without raising any alarm."
Amara smiled, pleased with the witches' reaction. "That's the idea. I've already studied her mannerisms and memories. By the time I get to Alphea, I will be Serenity."
Scarlett's earlier hostility was replaced with grudging respect. "You've done well, Amara."
Amara smirked. "Thank you."
With the plan set, Amara took one last look at the real Serenity, who was still unconscious and securely bound. Then, with a final nod to the witches, she left Cloud Tower, her mind focused on the task ahead.

The fairies finally made it back to their dorm.
"Gosh, tonight was exhausting," Carissa said, collapsing onto the couch. "Thank goodness we weren't caught sneaking back in like last time."
The girls flopped down on the furniture in their common room.
"At least you guys had fun. I spent most of my night overthinking everything," Crystal huffed.
"What's wrong?" Danielle asked with concern in her eyes.
"I thought Caspian and I had a connection, you know? But he left me to dance with other girls; I just got ahead of myself." Crystal sighed, frustration evident in her voice.
"Well, you aren't technically dating, so it isn't that deep," Luna pointed out.
"Thanks for the advice, Luna," Crystal snapped, glaring at her. "Really helpful." She stormed off to her room, leaving an awkward silence in her wake.
Danielle turned to Luna, frowning. "You could've been a bit more sensitive."
Luna shrugged. "I'm just being realistic. If she likes him, she should talk to him about it."
Artemisia nodded. "Maybe Luna's right, but we also need to be there for her. Crystal's feelings are hurt."
"We'll talk to her in the morning," Lithia suggested. "Tonight's been long enough already."
