The next morning~

Danielle awoke to find Luna still peacefully asleep beside her, both still dressed in yesterday's attire.

"We must have talked until we fell asleep," Danielle mused quietly to herself as she gently got up to tidy herself and change clothes. As she finished dressing, she glanced back at Luna, still peacefully slumbering. Danielle couldn't help but think that Luna must be exhausted from her first experience with magic.

Leaving Luna to rest, Danielle ventured out into the hallway, where she heard murmurs of conversation emanating from the room adjacent to Luna's parents'. Curiosity piqued, she cautiously approached and peeked inside, only to find Luna's parents engaged in sorting through some boxes.

"Danielle?" Luna's father called out, noticing her presence in the doorway. Danielle sheepishly faced them.

"Good morning," she said awkwardly, feeling a bit out of place since the outburst she had the day before.

Luna's mother sighed softly before speaking, her voice tinged with regret. "Honestly, my husband and I have been giving a lot of thought to the situation. We realise now that we may have been disrespectful to you. We know you care about Luna just as much as we do. We are just scared of her trailing off on the wrong path, but we realised that maybe what we think is best might not be what is good for Luna."

"I understand," Danielle replied gently, offering a reassuring smile. "Luna's happiness is what matters most, and I'm sure she'll appreciate having her parents' support." Luna's parents agreed with Danielle, with Luna's mother having to tear up a little bit and her husband consoling her.

"What exactly are you doing?" Danielle asked

"Sure, we want to turn this extra room into a small library," Luna's father answered with a small smile.

"So we are removing these boxes and sorting out valuable items." Luna's mother added, "Those boxes by the door are filled with things we no longer want. Could you please help us with that?"

Danielle nodded, and with a snap of her finger, the boxes started levitating. She left the room with the flying boxes, leaving Luna's parents in awe. She disposed of the items properly and returned to the room.

"All done," Danielle announced.

"Well, that's definitely real," Luna's father joked as they laughed. Danielle found herself assisting Luna's parents.

She used magic and tidied up the rest of the boxes, but she couldn't help but notice a black file jacket among the valuable items. Curiosity getting the best of her, Danielle opened it, only to be shocked by what she found inside.

"Certificate of Adoption?" Danielle read aloud, her voice tinged with surprise. Luna's parents turned to her, their expressions one of alarm.

"What did you say?" Luna's father questioned them as Danielle looked at them, equally surprised.

"Luna's adopted?" Danielle inquired.

"Yes, she is," Luna's mother admitted with a heavy sigh, her gaze falling to the floor. "But we never meant to keep it from her."

"Please don't tell her," Luna's father panicked, just as Danielle was about to reply. Suddenly, a sombre voice interrupted from the doorway. Luna herself appeared in the doorway, her expression a mix of shock and sadness.

"I'm adopted?" Luna's voice rang out, her tone filled with sadness. The revelation seemed to connect many dots for her.

"Luna, we're so sorry," Luna's mother cried, tears welling up in her eyes as she reached out to comfort her daughter.

Feeling overwhelmed, Luna ran off, leaving Danielle and her parents in a state of despair. Feeling guilty for causing this scenario, Danielle couldn't help but apologise profusely to the couple.

"I am so sorry; I didn't know; I should have minded my business." Danielle panicked

"We know," Luna's father reassured Danielle. "We've made mistakes, but adopting Luna wasn't one of them."

"She wasn't speaking to us, and now we have made it worse." Luna's mother cried louder.

"She was bound to know at one point." Her husband brought her in for a hug. Seeing Luna's parents like this made Danielle feel a lot worse; she had destroyed their family. She knew coming to Earth was a bad idea, so she wouldn't have caused this issue for her best and only friend.

"I am so sorry." Danielle apologised to the couple: "I didn't mean to cause any harm. I swear"

"I will go look for her and try to calm her down." Danielle declared and left the room for Luna's room to check on her, then realised that Luna had left the apartment.

Danielle activated her magic to search for her friend. Following the magical arrow she summoned, Danielle was led to the park, the very place they had first met. There, she found Luna crying alone on a park bench.

"Luna!" Danielle called out, running up to her.

"Danielle?" Luna's voice wavered as she looked up, her eyes red from crying.

Feeling a sense of guilt, Danielle sat beside her friend. "I'm so sorry," she said softly.

"No, there's nothing to be sorry about. I just feel blindsided," Luna admitted.

"I still feel awful," Danielle confessed.

"It's okay. I was bound to find out eventually," Luna shrugged. "It actually explains a lot. I'm not from Earth, which is why I have magic. Now the real question is, Who are my biological parents?"

Returning home, Luna faced her parents, who were waiting for her in the living room.

"Luna, we're sorry," they both said, rising from their seats.

"I understand. I'm not mad at you," Luna reassured them, prompting her mother to tear up.

"Really? You're not upset?" Her mother sniffled, wiping her tears.

"No, Mom," Luna smiled, embracing her parents tightly. "But if it's okay, I'd like to follow Danielle into the magical dimension."

Her parents exchanged looks of sadness. "What about your dream of going to fashion school?" her father asked.

"Well," Luna smiled wistfully, "I need to discover myself first, and there's no better place to start than in the magical dimension."

"Of course." Her mother smiled back, hugging Luna once more. "I'll miss you so much."

"Me too, Mom."
