Meanwhile, Serenity had already noticed the strange behaviour of the fairies around her. Their stolen glances and hesitant interactions hadn't escaped her notice. Aware of their wariness, she decided to reach out to the witches to provide an update.
In her room at Alphea, Amara, disguised as Serenity, activated a communication crystal and whispered, "Scarlett, Tasma, Electra, can you hear me?"
The crystal illuminated, and Electra's voice resonated through. "We're here. What's the situation?"
"The fairies are getting suspicious," Amara reported, her voice tense. "They've been watching me closely, trying to figure me out. I've managed to blend in so far, but we need to be cautious."
Tasma interjected, her tone sharp. "Have you gathered any useful information yet?"
"Not yet," Amara admitted. "But I'm working on it."
"Then why are you wasting our time, Amara?" Scarlett's voice was laced with frustration. "If you were truly skilled, those fairies wouldn't be onto you, and we would be closer to finding the other piece of the talisman by now."
"I understand your frustration, Scarlett," Amara replied, trying to remain calm. "These kinds of things take time. Rushing this could expose us."
Scarlett huffed. "Just do what you must, and next time we will be expecting good news."
"I will," Amara promised. "I won't let you down."
The crystal dimmed before Amara could complete her words, and she took a deep breath. She knew the fairies were sharp, and one mistake could expose her true identity and foil their plan.
Serenity sighed and clenched her fist. "If those fairies are going to get in my way, I will just get rid of them."
The next morning, Amara, still posing as Serenity, joined the fairies for breakfast in the dining hall. She made sure to be extra friendly and approachable, engaging in light-hearted conversations and showing interest in their lives.
"Good morning, everyone!" Serenity greeted them with a bright smile. "Did you all sleep well?"
The fairies exchanged glances before responding. "Morning, Serenity," Luna replied, forcing a smile. "Yeah, we slept fine. How about you?"
"I had a great night's sleep, thanks," Serenity said, sitting down with her tray. "I was thinking about exploring the forest more today. What are you all planning to do?"
"We haven't thought about that yet," Lithia said.
"How about a yoga session by the lake?" Serenity suggested. "It's been a while since I joined one with friends."
"That sounds nice," Carissa said, warming up to the idea. "We could use some relaxation."
"Count me in," Artemisia added. "It'll be a great way to unwind."
"Awesome! I'll start with the preparations." Serenity offered. "Meet me at the lake by 2 p.m."
"That sounds nice," Carissa said, warming up to the idea. "We could use some relaxation."
"Count me in," Artemisia added. "It'll be a great way to unwind."
"Awesome! I'll start with the preparations," Serenity offered. "Meet me at the lake by 2 PM."
The girls nodded, and after breakfast, they went about their usual activities, feeling a bit lighter with the prospect of a relaxing afternoon. Serenity headed out to the lake, finding a perfect spot and setting up the yoga mats.
"I can't believe I'm doing all this," Amara muttered under her breath as she surveyed her work. "I hope those pesky fairies fall for this. I don't even know anything about yoga; I am just dependent on Serenity's memories."
By the time the fairies arrived at the lake, Serenity had created a serene oasis. Mats were laid out in a semi-circle, facing the water, and a few lanterns hung from nearby trees, casting a soft glow.
"Wow, you really went all out," Danielle said, impressed.
"Yeah, this looks amazing," Carissa added, her eyes wide with appreciation.
Only Crystal remained apprehensive, still not fully convinced by Serenity's efforts.
"Thanks," Serenity said, smiling warmly. "I thought we could use a peaceful setting to really relax."
They settled onto their mats, and serenity led them through a series of gentle yoga poses. The calm atmosphere, combined with the soothing sounds of the lake, helped them all unwind. For a while, it felt as though the weight of their recent troubles had lifted.
After the yoga session, they sat together by the water, enjoying the tranquility. Artemisia glanced at Serenity. "This was a great idea. Thanks for organising it."
"I'm glad you liked it," Serenity replied. "It's nice to take a break and just be present."
The girls chatted and laughed, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the lake, they decided it was time to head back. They began to pack up their things and make their way back to the main campus.
"I believe this is your bag, Crystal," Serenity said, handing Crystal her bag. Crystal took it with a small nod and an awkward grin.
"Shouldn't we help you clear up everything?" Carissa asked.
"No, I can handle it myself; thank you," Serenity replied with a warm smile. "Have a fun day being rejuvenated!"
The girls nodded and began to walk back to the dorms. As they walked, they chatted about how relaxing the yoga session had been.
"I have to admit, that was really nice," Artemisia said, stretching her arms above her head. "I feel so much better."
"Me too," Danielle agreed. "Maybe we should do this more often."
"Definitely," Lithia said. "It was a great way to unwind."
Crystal remained quiet, still feeling a bit suspicious of Serenity despite the pleasant afternoon. She glanced back over her shoulder, watching Serenity as she tidied up the mats and lanterns by the lake. Something still didn't feel right, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"What's on your mind, Crystal?" Artemisia asked, noticing her friend's pensive expression.
"I don't know," Crystal replied, shaking her head.
"Is it still about Serenity? Maybe you're overthinking it," Carissa said gently. "She seems genuine to me, which makes me feel bad."
"Yeah, all we've done is spy on her and invade her privacy, yet she still invited us to a yoga session," Luna added.
Crystal didn't reply, her doubts lingering. Little did she know that the reason for those doubts would soon be discovered.
Back at the lake, Amara finished packing up the last of the yoga mats, smiling faintly to herself. Getting rid of the fairies was going to be an easy job.
The fairies returned to their dorm and gathered in their common room. "That was exactly what we needed," Carissa said, stretching her arms. "I feel so much better."
"Me too," Artemisia agreed. "Serenity really knows how to create a calming atmosphere."
"I feel like I'll sleep very peacefully tonight," Luna yawned.
With that, they settled in for the evening, unaware that the night would be far from peaceful.
