Artemisia and Lithia stood resolutely in the field of withered, lifeless grass, facing the menacing figure of Tasma. The bleak, desolate landscape was heavy with an oppressive atmosphere, and Tasma's form cast ominous shadows across the ground.
"How can we fight her in this place?" Lithia's voice trembled with frustration as she glanced around at the unyielding environment.
Artemisia's eyes narrowed as she took in the surroundings. "The plants are dead, and the ground is unresponsive. I can't do much here."
"Don't worry, Artemisia. I'll cover you," Lithia said, her voice steady despite the situation.
As Tasma's dark energy began to gather and intensify, Lithia took a deep breath, her hands alight with crackling energy. "STATIC SHOCK!" she shouted, sending a powerful surge of electricity crackling through the air towards Tasma.
The lightning bolts briefly lit up the darkened sky, casting fleeting shadows against the oppressive gloom. With a mocking laugh, Tasma deftly evaded the attack, her cackle echoing through the desolate landscape.
"Pathetic!" She sneered, raising her hands and unleashing a focused, swirling beam of darkness. "BEAM OF DARKNESS!"
The beam of darkness slammed into Lithia. She was thrown backward, her body skidding across the desolate field, the lifeless grass crunching under her weight. Lithia's pained gasp echoed through the eerie silence that followed.
"Lithia!" Artemisia's voice cracked with worry as she sprinted towards her fallen friend. The gloom of the field seemed to close in around them, adding to her sense of urgency.
Tasma floated above; her eyes gleaming with cruel satisfaction. "Pathetic! Is that all the great Lithia can muster?" She taunted, her voice dripping with disdain. She raised her hand, summoning another wave of dark energy.
Artemisia kneeled beside Lithia, checking her for injuries. "Lithia, stay with me," she pleaded, her hands trembling as she tried to help her friend.
"I'm here... just need a moment," Lithia managed to murmur, wincing with pain. Her energy seemed sapped, but she tried to focus, her gaze still locked on the menacing figure of Tasma.
Artemisia's gaze hardened with resolve as she looked up, her face a blend of determination and fear. "We can't let her win. We have to fight back."
Her eyes swept over the desolate field, landing on a darkened altar at the center. It pulsed with a faint, eerie plum glow, casting unsettling shadows across the barren terrain.
"Lithia, I think I found something," Artemisia said, her voice urgent.
Tasma sneered from a distance, her dark energy crackling ominously. "I should strike while you two are still distracted," she taunted.
"Go ahead, I'll cover you," Lithia replied, struggling to regain her footing as she prepared to face Tasma's looming threat.
Artemisia nodded determinedly, her eyes fixed on the darkened altar. She sprinted towards it, her heart pounding as she navigated the desolate field. Behind her, Lithia gathered her strength, determined to keep Tasma occupied for a while.
Tasma's eyes narrowed with malicious intent as she watched Artemisia approach the altar. "You think you can disrupt my plans so easily?" She sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
