It was sometime in the afternoon when suddenly Irene got a disturbing phone call from Stiles. Lydia had gone missing from the hospital. Irene rushed to grab her coat and drove Nida's car to the hospital since she got a lift with Melissa.

"Stiles! Why are you holding a hospital gown?"

"I'm going to try and track Lydia" Scott said confidently

"Ok-" She shrugged before walking to Stiles' jeep in the parking lot

"This is the one she was just wearing?" Scott asked Stiles "I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her. Not again"

"All right, just shove the thing in your face and let's find her- Wow!" Stiles jumped when Allison suddenly appeared at the door of the jeep

"What are you doing here? Someone's gonna see us!" Scott said alarmed

"I don't care. She's my best friend, and we need to find her before they do" Allison told them

"I can find her before the cops can" Scott assured her

"How about before my father does?"

"He knows? Great. Just great" Irene groaned, leaning back in the backseat

"Yeah. I just saw him and three other guys leave my house in two SUVs"

"I swear if it's the same guy who keeps giving me trouble I am gonna whoop his ass" Irene scoffed under her breath

"...Search party" Scott said

"It's more like a hunting party"

"Get in" Irene said, swinging the door open for Allison to sit beside her

"All right, but if she's turning, would they actually kill her?" Stiles asked as he sped off, taking directions from Scott

"I don't know. They won't tell me anything, okay? All they say is, "We'll talk after Kate's funeral, when the others get here.""

"What others?" Irene asked in confusion

"I don't know, they won't tell me that yet" Allison admitted, frustrated with her family

"Okay, your family's got some serious communication issues to work on" Stiles rolled his eyes "Scott, are we going the right way?" Stiles asked to Scott who had his head sticking out the window like a dog, using his nose as a werewolf GPS

"Take the next right!"

Stiles took the directions and one thing led to another and they somehow ended up outside Derek's house. Irene jumped out the car and walked closer to the house, looking up at it in confusion before turning to her friends

"She came here? You sure?" She asked

"Yeah, this is where the scent leads" Scott affirmed, also getting out of the jeep

"All right, but has Lydia ever been here?"

"Not with me" Allison told everyone "Maybe she came here on instinct- like she was looking for Derek?" She suggested. It made the most sense if she was turning

"You mean, looking for an Alpha"

"Wolves need a pack, right?"

"Not all of them..." Scott told her, clearly referring to himself

"But would she have been drawn to an Alpha? Is it an instinct to be part of a pack?"

"Yeah, we're-we're stronger in packs"

"Like, strength in numbers?" Irene asked as she walked back over to her friends, crossing her arms and leaning against a nearby tree

"No, like-like, literally stronger, faster... Better in every way"

"Is that the same for an Alpha?" Allison asked

"That'll make Derek stronger, too"

"Whoa, hey! Look at this!" Stiles called out, causing Allison and Irene to crouch beside him to see what had caught his eye "You see this? I think it's a tripwire" He said in fascination before pulling the wire, although nothing seemed to happen

"Stiles-"

"Yeah, buddy" He said, turning around as did all of them. After seeing Scott dangling from a tripwire Irene let out a small giggle "...Oh"

"Next time you see a tripwire? Don't trip it" He whined

"Not quite sure this is what people mean by 'hanging out'" Irene grinned

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait!" He stopped them from trying to help him "Someone's coming! Hide! Go!"

Irene nodded and ran to hide behind a tree, keeping her hand covering her mouth so she didn't alert people she was there. All of a sudden she heard approaching footsteps, rustling the leaves near Scott

"Scott?"

"Mr. Argent..." Scott said awkwardly

"How are you doing?" He said fakely

"Good. You know, just hangin' out" He said which made Irene roll her eyes "Is this one of yours? It's, uh, good. Nice design. Very constricting"

"What are you doing out here, Scott?" Argent sighed

"Looking for my friend"

"Ahh... That's right. Lydia's in your group now, isn't she? Part of the clique? Is that the word you use? Or is there another way to put it? Part of your pack?"

"Actually, "clique" sounds about right to me" Scott replied blandly

"I hope so... 'Cause I know she's a friend of Allison's, and one special circumstance such as yourself? One, I can handle. Not two."

"No"

"Scott, do you know what a hemicorporectomy is?"

"I have a feeling I don't want to..."

"A medical term for amputating someone at the waist. Cutting them in half. It takes a tremendous amount of strength to cut through tissue and bone like that...Let's hope a demonstration never becomes necessary"

They all waited for a few minutes before reappearing and approaching Scott with a look of worry

"Are you okay?" Allison asked

"Just another life-threatening conversation with your dad..." He sighed

"Stiles, help me with this-" Allison said to Stiles

"Thanks..." Scott said before his feet landed back on the ground, him flexing his claws "But I think I got it"

"Yeah..."

"Man you need a manicure" Irene teased before heading towards the abandoned Hale house. Irene forgot how creepy it looked at night
