"So why do we need their help?" Isaac asked Derek.
"Because it's harder than I thought. I still don't know who it is"
"And they do?"
Two nights had passed since finding out the Kanima wasn't Lydia and they didn't have any more useful information than they did before except for a hunch. Irene had to go into the sheriff station the day before to give a statement about Nida's death which she hated doing. But thankfully Sheriff Stilinski was kind with her and let her 'go back home'.
Considering Irene was babysitting for Mike's siblings it gave her a solid alibi and she was no longer considered a suspect
Irene was busy playing with Aella, moving a small piece of string around on the floor and watching her race after it as Erica watched in awe at the small creature. It still wasn't safe for Irene to return to her house just yet so Derek allowed her to bring her cat to the subway station as long as she looked after her. It was all she had left now.
"I need one of you on their good side" Derek said as he walked over to an old looking chest
"Scott or Stiles?" Isaac asked
"Either."
"Yeah, well, they clearly both hate me at the moment so that's a no-go" Irene sighed, going back to playing with her cat
"You know, the full moon's coming, Derek" Isaac said
"I'm aware of that"
"Oh great, because we need another problem right now," Irene said sarcastically, picking up Aella and walking over to the group, lightly stroking the cat's chin.
Erica picked up one of the chains Derek had taken out of a chest and looked at it "These look comfortable" She said sarcastically as Derek put the chains on the floor
"You said you were going to teach us how to change whenever we wanted" Isaac reminded
"There hasn't been time"
"I hadn't noticed." Irene said, earning a glare from Derek "Sorry sour wolf" She shrugged
"But if you have to lock us up during the full moon, that means you're alone against the Argents" Isaac said worriedly
"They haven't found us, Isaac" Irene reminded
"Yet! So how about we forget the kanima," Isaac suggested
"WE CAN'T!" Derek yelled, making Irene flinch and look at him with worry "There was something about the way Gerard looked at it. He wasn't afraid...at all. I don't know what he knows or what he's planning. But I'm sure about one thing. We have to find it first."
"Derek, we're all worried about this thing, you don't have to stress about it all by yourself" Irene said softly, walking over to him with Aella in her arms
"I know. But I have to worry about you guys on the full moon, especially you"
"Me? Why?"
"This thing killed your sister, I know you have a problem with your anger and there is something else on your mind"
"It's nothing. Come on, Erica, we have to get to school..." Irene sighed, gently placing Aella down and kissing her on the head, watching as she strutted over to her bed and lay down. She never had to worry about her cat considering she slept all day
At school Erica and Irene were walking through the halls when they heard Stiles asking Lydia about Jackson's birth parents. She rolled her eyes and followed Erica who shoved Stiles against a wall, pinning him with her claws
