Azula got home from school in a very bad mood this day. She had had a shit day and didn't feel like talking to anyone, but alas, of course her mother would have to bring up what happened.
"Azula would you care to explain this email I got from your teacher?" Said Ursa to Azula once she walked through the door.
"How am I supposed to know what the email says?"
"Well it says:" Ursa started reading the email from her phone, "Azula was talking a lot with Ty lee in class even after I told her multiple times to stop. When I finally switched her places, she started talking to Sokka. I asked her to step outside of the classroom and went to speak with her. She was constantly rolling her eyes at me while I spoke and would respond with attitude. This isn't the first time something like this has happened"
"Uh yeah I was talking and she pulled a tantrum"
"Azula the point is that you have absolutely no respect for anyone! She tells you to stop, you don't, she even switches you and you continue! Then you give her attitude when she's trying to speak with you!"
"That teacher is always on my ass!"
"Well for a good reason clearly! You're awful to deal with!"
"Shut up! You don't know anything!"
"I know enough! You have no respect! Don't worry, it'll catch up to you when you're older. Nobody will want to be around you"Azula was about to reply when suddenly Ozai interrupted.
"Ok stop it, we'll talk about this later. I need to get Azula to her therapy session" he said
"Yeah my last one, finally"
"Yeah so let's go" he says and then they leave the house again to drive Azula's last therapy session.

"Hi Azula, how are you feeling today?" Asked Dr. Smith
"I'm in a shitty mood" Azula replied dryly
"How come?"
"Well because something happened at school and they emailed my mom and I got into a fight with her before coming here"
"I see. Azula since this is our last session, I really think we should talk about your mother"
"Why?"
"I've respected your wishes to not talk about her but I can see this situation bothers you"
"It doesn't"
"Yes it does Azula. Come on, tell me something about you and your mother"
"Well we never got along, even when I was younger"
"Why weren't you guys getting along?"
"I don't know, we always fight"
"How come?"
"Because she hates me, she thinks I'm a bad person"
"I'm sure there's more to it than that"
"No, she's always hated me since I was young... she'd rather by around my brother, her perfect little golden child"
"Why do you think she favours your brother?"
"Because he's the perfect little angel child and I'm the one with temper issues so she hates me"
"Azula I'm sure that she doesn't hate you"
"Yes she does! You don't live with her, I do! She hates me!"
"Why do you think she hates you?"
"Because she never talks to me except when she yells at me. She's always mad at me, it's like she gets off on yelling at me all the time. I can't even remember the last time we had a normal conversation about a normal subject"
"Have you tried to talk to her about stuff?"
"No... but she hasn't either. She's the parent, if she cared she'd try to make an effort... but she doesn't, she doesn't care about me" Azula said in a lower tone.
"I'm sure she does"
"She doesn't... I don't remember the last time she said she was proud of me or anything nice... she never even says that she loves me. When we argue she says some stuff that hurts me I guess"
"Oh, like what?" This was the first time she was hearing Azula actually sound vulnerable. Her voice was much less angry and aggressive.
"She calls me difficult, ridiculous, a problem, a narcissist... just before I came here she called me awful and said nobody will want to be around me when I'm older..." as Azula was saying this she felt her vision becoming blurry. Was she about to start crying? Was this really bothering her this much? To the point where she'd actually cry..."Azula, are you ok?" Dr. Smith said, noticing her glassy eyes.
"Y-yeah..." Azula managed to say before tears started to fall from her eyes. She couldn't control it, she just started to cry.
"Azula? Are you feeling ok?"
"Sorry, I didn't want to cry... I hate it, I never do it" she said as she started wiping her tears, but more kept on coming.
"It's ok to cry. It's better than bottling it all up"
"I hate crying... it's stupid"
"Hey, it isn't stupid, it's a good thing" she said to Azula and then went and sat next to her.
"Why doesn't she l-love me..?"
"Aw, I'm sure she does"
"She doesn't, she thinks I'm an awful person"
"That isn't true"
"Really? I'm always so mean to everyone and just last week I broke a vase of yours"
"That's ok, I've dealt with much worse. I see that you're a good person Azula, there are just some stuff you need to work on. Nobody is perfect, but you're a good person, trust me"
"Then why am I like this..."
"You're not the only one with behavioural issues, there are many like you. I'll be here to help you though, if you're open to keep talking" Dr. Smith was happy that Azula was finally showing some emotion and a more human side. She was glad that she'd be able to start making some real progress with her. If she allowed it of course.
"Yeah ok, I won't stop the appointments..."
"That's wonderful to hear Azula. I'm proud of you and you definitely aren't a bad person"
