Andy's P.O.V
We walked down the wasteland towards the F.E.A.R ruins. Us, as the rebels, were in front of the entire army walking as the leaders. The survivors were behind us marching with confidence.
Jinxx had worked hard this morning and had made a couple of war paint buckets appear for us all. We were covered in the black paint and Michelle was wearing her rebel jacket. Jinxx was a master of the mind.
Michelle and I held hands tightly as we all marched in silence up the hills. The sun was high in the sky and there was literally no wind. It was all still. It was like the calm before the storm.
My vision that night had warned me that F.E.A.R would appear around noon. It was better to be safe than sorry so we had left the base early to have the upper hand.
When it came to something as important as this, any advantage, no matter how small, was a huge advantage.
In my vision I had seen F.E.A.R appearing midway through the wasteland. In between their church, (or what's left of it anyways) and our base was where they were going to appear.
We were almost there, roughly so I turned around and ordered everyone to stop walking.
"Dan and Phil I need you up here." I snapped my fingers and watched the two males march their way up to where we were.
Dan was standing strong but Phil was shaking slightly. I didn't blame him, honestly. This was terrifying. I was terrified.
"This is the real deal guys. I want you to bring your A game, okay? Now the key is to be fearless so please stay strong. I belive in you." I said. "Don't show them that you're afraid. Do not give them what they want."
Dan placed a hand on Phil's shoulder and gave him a reassuring nod. Phil smiled again and looked at me with a new confidence.
"That's the way." I said. "C.C's team, up here too." C.C gave his team a salute and motioned for them to come forth to me.
There were about six kids in C.C's team and they all came up to me with serious expressions. "Okay. The key is strong and fast. Remember that okay? Strong and fast. Remember that being fearless is what counts. Laugh in the face of F.E.A.R, let them know that you're not afraid. They won't steal what burns in you." They all nodded.
I took a step back to get a better view at the rest of our small army. "The rest of you, remember that they'll try to trick you. They'll try to scare you but remember that it's not real. It's all a scam, so stay alert. Show them how much you're not scared and then give them a blow right in their pride. And then kick in the ballsack. Okay?" I smiled. "Be excited! Brave! I know it's hard but we can do this!"
"Woo! Can I get a fuck you?!" Ashley screamed.
"Fuck you!" The whole army screamed back.
"Ha, ha yeah!" I said. This is what we needed. A "go to hell" attitude to put F.E.A.R in the grave once and for all. We want to be shot dead kids. We want to be fallen angels, an army of wild ones.
"Fuck yeah!" C.C screamed. "Fuck you F.E.A.R!"
There was a chorus of 'fuck you's and screams before we all laughed in their face and calmed back down. We smiled and returned to wait for the enemy.
"Now what?" Michelle asked clinging to my arm.
"Now we wait, love. We wait." I kissed her forehead and looked straight ahead.
We were going to blow this joint.
.-.
We had been standing in the same position for about half a hour now and my joints were starting to crack at my every move, growning in disapproval.
Michelle looked up at me with a confused expression. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Well, we've been standing here for a long time now don't you think?" She said. I could practically see the relief dripping from her every word.
"Yeah, about half an hour or so. Why?" I whispered, trying not to disturb the other's concentration.
She looked at me with a smile tugging at her lips. "Do you think they're not coming?"
There was a rumble up ahead and all heads snapped in that direction. The dust lifted up the ground suddenly creating a small cloud the blurred or view of what was coming.
I could here marching in the distance and soon could see the horns that adorned the F.E.A.R. guards' heads. They carried large sticks with the F.E.A.R symbol at top as a form of flag.
There were about 50 F.E.A.R guards alone.
"Oh, they're coming." I whispered back one last time before all struck our poses of defiance. Head up high and standing straight and tall, a smirk displayed on all of our faces.
I let go of Michelle's hand and took a step forward towards those insensitive bastards.
I heard the too familar crackle of a F.E.A.R intermition beginning. I heard a small grown from everyone in the army.
"Wild Ones. Rebels. Traitors to F.E.A.R. Peasants nevertheless." F.E.A.R's voice announced through the wasteland. "You thought you could just get rid of F.E.A.R? Well, you thought wrong." F.E.A.R chuckled darkly before giving a low growl.
We stood in silence before them, waiting for their first move.
There was nothing.
"Hi Michelle." F.E.A.R's voice said suddenly.
I froze. F.E.A.R captures hundreds of people everytime they rise. How on this earth did they ever memorize Michelle's name? There is no way that they focused on her this much.
Michelle was frozen too. She looked up at me as I read the fear in here eyes. They were getting to her. I knew it.
"Don't fall for it." I pleaded quietly.
"Ever heard of the term... bait?" The disgusting voice asked. "Well you did a great job sweetie. Sparing you so you could lead us to this... army." That laughed appeared again. "Great job!"
Michelle clenched a fist in anger.
"No." I whispered. "All a scam, remember? Fearless." I pleaded once more.
Those bastards.
My heart was racing and I desperately tried to calm it down. Andy, relax. All a scam... all a scam... all a motherfucking scam...
