Noones Pov

"Tch," Espresso grunted, caught in the foamy trap.

It was a simple spell, one that weakened and relaxed the body. Naturally, it was for non-combat uses.

Espresso swiped his hand, and a thin line of fire shot up from the ground, trailing from his feet to the door. Caramel Machiatto's foot was caught on fire, and he yelped, leaping back and stamping his feet on the pavement. Espresso blasted the ground and foam with a coffee bean, sending him flying backward.

He shook the remaining foam from his legs. He landed on the window for less than a second before being forced to push off the window, landing on his feet swiftly as an arrow came whistling at his head. The arrow penetrated the window with a crash, sending glass flying everywhere.

Espresso pivoted to the side and snatched a glass piece midair. In a blink of an eye, he dashed in the direction of the shooter. He slashed the sharp edge across their neck, drawing a think pink line that exploded into dark red crimson. The cookie fell, writhing and gurgling on his blood, dead.

Another cookie swung a monstrous axe at Espresso and the duct, sending a kick that connected to the cookie's jaw. They stumbled, shocked, eyes rolled back, falling onto the ground.

Levitating upwards, Espresso looked down to see that Dalganol and Caramel Machiatto had both fled. In their place stood the restaurant workers and the customers. The customers had white pupils unnaturally.

"Hm, are they controlled by Caramel Machiatto?" Espresso muttered, dodging an arrow shot by Old Man Cortado.

"Doesn't matter, you're in my way!" He scoffed, his eyes widening irritated.

He pulled out the gum he stole earlier and sent a cascade of bullets at the cookies below, killing 4 cookies, including old man Cortado, ruthlessly. He kicked a coffee cookie that lept at him as he made a coffee shield that ricocheted the bullets sent by the workers.

He spun around, sending a rain of mini coffee bombs. Screams erupted as blood splattered everywhere, attracting more villagers living in nearby houses. Their pupils were pearly white as well, but several of them near the explosions died before doing anything.

"What's going on?" A confused cookie in her late 20's said, opening her door.

She wasn't controlled, and as she noticed the dead bodies glittering on the pavement, her confusion turned into fear. She let out a blood-curdling scream and grabbed her hair. Espresso cast an apathetic glance at her, watching the mind-controlled cookies near her assaulting her.

Espresso sent a giant coffee bomb into the center of the chaos. It exploded into black and orange dust, shaking the ground and gravely injuring almost all the cookies who were outside.

He floated to the nearest window upstairs and blasted his way in. Delicately, he stepped around the shattered glass.

"Ugh," Espresso scoffed, his eyes narrowing slightly, seeing the small, bare room, empty.

Where is she? he pondered, exiting the room and hurriedly walking down the hallway.

He kicked open another door and sauntered into the master's suit. It annoyed him to see it decorated and filled with useless items, similar to the living room.

I can't waste a talent like hers!

Espresso wouldn't admit that in a short time, he had taken a liking to the young girl.

He searched the other rooms but to no avail. Neither Machiatto's were in the house.

"That makes no sense!" Espresso seethed, setting the bed in the master's room on fire, along with a few items.
