Tay:

We stood in awe at the magnificent view that lay in front of us. A field of trees ran down the mountain to a lake that was golden from the way the sun was hitting it. The air was cool and the scent of the forest was carried by a slight breeze. I knew this was the right place. It's beauty mirrored that of the amazing woman I stood next to. I was ready to propose.

I was nervous, but this time not too much. I wasn't about to have a panic attack, mostly thanks to my emergency anxiety medication. I had been hesitant about taking it, but I knew I would never get the courage to ask Jenna to marry me, no matter how much I loved her, there was too much doubt in my head. It was a real pity how much I looked down on myself.

There was a sparkle in Jenna's eyes, she seemed to be in a fantastic mood. Her positive energy was spreading to me. I smiled at her. Everything was going right.

I led her over to a flat topped boulder to sit down. The rock was cold under our thighs. We held hands and chatted for a while. I didn't want her to suspect anything. Despite the calming environment and casual discussion she couldn't seem to sit still, she was antsy and at times couldn't follow the conversation. Her mind was obviously on something else. I wondered if it had something to do with what she had talked to Hayley about earlier. I tried to not let it worry me.

Time passed quick and before I knew it, it was about to be too late to be able to make it back before nightfall. I made sure that Jenna's attention was on me and felt for the ring in my bag. I got down on one knee, pulled the box out and looked up at the love of my life "Will you marry me?".

Jenna didn't look as surprised as I would have expected, but at least she did seem extremely excited. Her face lit up with a huge smile. Without saying anything she threw her arms around me and squeezed me tight. "Yes! Of course!" she screamed (accidentally) in my ear.

I was so relieved and happy to hear those words. We both agreed that we were soul mates and we belonged together, the perfect couple. Through all our struggles we had managed to stay together if not as lovers than as friends. These last few years knowing Jenna were going to start again in a new chapter of our lives.

As Jenna let go of me I brought her closer, bringing her lips to mine. I closed my eyes and enjoyed this moment, letting my whole body relax. This was one of the best times of my life. I hoped I would have many more wonderful moments like this with Jenna.

A.N. Thanks for reading. I hope you have been enjoying reading. Sorry if I haven't been updating very consistently, I've been really busy. Writing isn't my only hobby, I am also a musician. I play guitar, bass and sing and I've been trying to manage my time between this story, the band I play bass in and auditioning for other bands.

I will be writing another story to continue this one. I'll write the title in the comments once I have published the first part of it. Don't be afraid to leave comments, I love hearing what you think and I take all of your suggestions into consideration.
The next part is up it is called 'Our Forever After' the first chapter is 'Once Upon a Time'.  :D
