The Riddles - Mattheo And Tom One shots

Hatred

Hatred is a strong word. Its not a word I use lightly. I only ever use it when it comes to Mattheo Riddle. He is egotistical, arrogant, self centered and the only thing things he cares about is sex, smoking and drinking. He also has anger issues, he spends more time in detention than in class. Him and his friends Draco and Blaise are the bullies of the school. Me, my best friend Enzo and my brother Theo are always on the receiving end of the bullying. Mattheo and Theo used to be friends but then Mattheo started picking on me so Theo cut ties with him.
"Well hello there princess."
"Go away Riddle"
"That's no way to talk to your superior"
"Seriously just leave me alone" I had a lump in my throat. I was having a bad day and he wasn't helping.
"What's wrong you going to cry like the baby you are." I didn't respond. I just grabbed my things and left. Guess studying will have to wait. For the next two months he increased the bullying. What's worse is Theo and Enzo have been suspended because they beat up Draco and Blaise pretty badly. I'm all alone for the next three weeks. One night I was sat in a dark corner of the common room when Mattheo and his friends came in. They sat down with some other boys  and Pansy Parkinson and Astoria Greengrass.
"So Mattheo how's it going with Sophia" Why are the talking about me?
"What are you on about Malfoy"
"Come on mate just admit it, we all know you like her."
"I don't like her"
"Yes you do. The only reason you pick on her is because your to scared to tell her the truth."
"There's no truth to tell"
"Your in denial"
"No I am not"
"I wonder if she likes him"
"Good point Pansy we need to find out but how?"
"Merlins sake do I have to do everything. Truth serum obviously. We trick her in to drinking it and ask her." Looks like I need to be on the look out for anything suspicious and keep a closer eye on them as well.
Over the next few days they kept trying and failing to trick me. They got fed up and confronted me in the common room.
"Sophia we give up. Will you just answer a question honestly for us."
"I already know what your going to ask and no I won't answer it."
"How do you know?"
"I overheard your conversation the other day. I knew you were planning on tricking me."
"So you do like Mattheo then since you won't answer the question"
"Why would I like someone that makes my life a living hell and makes me want to off myself at least once a week." they all looked at me shocked "Don't ask the question if you can't handle the truth." As I walked away I saw a look of shame on Mattheo's face.
For the next three months he avoided me completely, hardly ever left his dorm, barely showed up for class and from what I've heard he spends his days locked in his room smoking and drinking. He's going to get kicked out at this rate.
I was walking through the school after curfew one night and decided to head to the Astronomy Tower. When I got there Mattheo was over the railing about to jump.
"Mattheo don't do anything stupid"
"Why do you care I ruined your life and make you want to die"
"I do care Mattheo, I care about you. Yes you did make me want to die sometimes but it was usually because you were picking on me when I was already having a bad day. You didn't ruin my life, I ruined my own life. The last few months of you ignoring me and avoiding me have sucked. I miss seeing you. Even though you treat me like shit. I miss you. Please don't do anything stupid"
"Why do you care after what I did to you. I'm broken I'm no good."
"Mattheo were both broken. I don't care about your reputation I care about you."
"I don't deserve your kindness after what I did to you."
"Your right you don't but you can make up to me if you'd like"
"How?"
"Come back over the railing. That's all I want in return for being nice to you." I started to slowly walk closer to him. "Just give me your hand and come back over here. Please Mattheo, as annoying as you are my life would be boring without you. Please just give me your hand" He finally took my hand and climbed back over. I pulled him straight in to a hug and he broke down. We spent the whole night sat there talking.
From that night on we stuck together, we supported each other and we fell in love. I used to say that hatred was a word I reserved for Mattheo but now the only word I use for Mattheo is love. We started as enemies but in the end that's what brought us together.
